Definitely a first world problem however when you’re paying £1250 for a phone I think you should expect perfection and have the option to create your own damage through day to day use . Anyway my chipped one was returned to Apple (purchased online and returned in store) for a refund yesterday and I took delivery of a replacement from John Lewis which is in the condition I expect when paying so much.

Of this gutts you, you need to re-evaluate your life. Does it suck? Sure. Can you exchange it and life goes on? Yes.

Really would like to know what you would say if something actually bad happened in your life and not a small chip to the finish in your mobile. Which, can be replaced.

Weird response. Did you not read the follow up?

So far the two things other members are finding based off reading that the iPhone XS is dealing with as far as potential manufacturing issues, is rough edges around the edges on the stainless bands and a chipped casing.

I have a similar issue with an Xs. I bought it this weekend in NY but I only opened it yesterday back in Europe. It was not so good when I saw there was a chip on the left side between the screen and the actual frame.

For this price I would expect a better quality. Now I do not know what to do as there are no apple stores in my country just authorized reseller. Returning to the apple store is not an option right now. I contacted apple support but they did not offered me a solution so far.

Do you have some advice ?

And the usual dust in the camera lens

I have the same problem right out of the box.
But i keep mine iPhones always in perfect condition so i get good cash for it to exchange it for the newer iPhone every year.
Don’t know what to do, if i sent it back to Vodafone in the netherlands, i need to have to wait for an new one.. that will take 14 days :( !! Im stil in my remaining 14 days trial to swap it.. but so long without an phone.. is too long.

Apple Order - I received a max with a dent in the side of it. I exchanged it in the store. It was easy, they have an option in EasyPay for defective in transit

Its Strange that this is occurring to the gold specific color for the iPhone, I checked over my space gray Max and it’s flawless around the whole casing.

Yes. Sell it with a discounted price. Buy a new one. Easy.

my space grey xs max also have this. exactly like that. on the bottom bezel near charging hole. its always covered by the case. i been using the phone for a month then when i change case i see this chip. problem is it’s so hard to find. have to be from a certain angle to see. otherwise can not be seen.
a lot of xs / xs max here (singapore) have these common fault. only the size of the chipped areas are different one another.

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that ‘most’ Space Gray iPhones have a chip, mine does not. Think about that, millions of Space Gray iPhones produced and sold, you can’t assume most have a chip or some form of damage.

These threads always amaze me .... "what should I do?", well I dunno, if it annoys you enough to post on a forum and ask that then perhaps get it replaced??

its the flat part of the bezel. common issues. all colors have this problem. doesn't have to be specific color only. i've seen various size of these chipped spot. some phones have more or bigger than the other phones. but the location is always the same. the "flat-top-part" along the bezel.
