Did anyone else abandon Spotify only to return back?

I've been playing around with Apple Music since launch, and whilst it's promising, it's just too buggy. There also seems to be a lot of music missing, or just not available to stream. I tend to find that Spotify has more of the music I like. I even bought a few tracks from iTunes, only to discover they were on Spotify for streaming. It seems odd to me that Apple Music seems to be missing these. I'm a huge dance music fan and Spotify seems to offer more for me (for now).

I was using Apple Music on iOS 9 but it seems that the issues are not totally related to that.

How do Apple music sound using the high quality setting in iOS 9?

I didn't abandon Spotify to try Apple Music, but I did give it a try for about a week.

I just found Spotify's UI, look and choice of music to be more appealing to me than Apple Music.

Okay thanks. Do you know if it's a tread that talks about the high quality toggle button in iOS 9?

The only toggle is 'High Quality over Mobile Network', which i presume is the same as Spotify's High quality option. I haven't noticed the difference.

I thought the Apple Music UI would be better (and thought it was), but it's quite disjointed and seems to be all over the place. I found adding tracks to playlists doesn't work all the time, and the whole 'Make Available Offline' option is problematic at best, and confusing. I prefer the Spotify app.

Yes that's what I'm taking about. Was just curious with this turned on does the music quality sound like Spotify's.

I agree with you, although to be fair, Apple Music is brand new and Spotify has been around a while.

Apple needs to work out the kinks in the functionality of it and probably make some UI changes to improve it's usability.

Spotify, on the other hand, has had plenty of time to polish and refine their UI and work out any bugs they had at their launch time.

That is true, and over time Apple Music will become great, but for the moment it's not for me.

I'll be migrating back today. I can't PROVE that Apple music was the culprit, but suddenly, for the first time EVER, I got a high data usage warning on the account. I'm only 10 days into the month, and AT&T is claiming we've used 9 out of 10 gig, and over 5 of it was from my WIFE [I've never seen her usage go over 3 gig in a month, EVER]

Coincidence? Maybe, but question number 1 is always "what changed"? The only thing I know that did. . was the music plan.

Strange. Spotify extreme setting is higher than Apple Music.

I like what Apple is trying to do and I'm sure it will eventually improve. But to me the Apple Music UI feels like someone with ADHD designed it. I feel totally scattered navigating through it the last couple weeks. Spotify looks and feels organized, simple, and focused.

I'm considering subscribing to a family plan for us but am torn which to choose. We have a 19 and 15 yr old and I've asked which one they'd prefer. They both are voting for Spotify.

Absolutely northing wrong with Spotify. Apple Music is just another choice for us consumers. And you don't have to make a lifetime decision. You can switch either way whenever you want.

I'm no knockin' it, just sharing my experience, and kinda wondering if anyone else can confirm/deny my findings. My wife's data has been a pretty consistent 2-3 Gb a month for well over a year. . it CAN'T be coincidence. . can it???

Maybe it's caused but listening to Beats 1?

I tried Apple Music for two weeks but I always keep coming back to Spotify. I cancelled my Premium with spotify before Apple Music launched then just reactivated my premium just yesterday.

The whole Apple Music idea is nice but the UI is confusing and messy. Adding tracks to playlist sometimes do not work. Playlist offerings are really few. Since they Got Beats or own Beats I was wondering where are their editors or sound experts and as to why they dont have wide range of playlist depends on the mood and time of day?

I know Apple will fix this intime but Im vouching for Spotify for now.

I used to love Grooveshark, now I am using Spotify. I have been trying Apple Music but Spotify feels more profesional and evolved. Apple Music feels like "for the family" sort of interface. Just this Friday I was listening to Roxette before going to a meeting, it was awesome. We had the best vibes in that meeting... I was using Spotify in my car.

As when I bought my first SE/30 1988 I KNOW that Apple will work out the glitches we encounter now. I LOVE to be in ONE ECO-System. But sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. Tried Spotify and even an Android some time ago. If that did´t convince me I don´t know what would. I even used Windows on my Mac with the same result. Maybe it is because I am not so interested to know how to fix problems, just want it to work. Right now since Apple Music is free I agree with Apple that we need to give them some room. But when I start to pay 15 bucks per months I will be more demanding. After all I have encountered very little problems even if I use a lot of Apples services. And even when I do generally their support is outstanding. Apple is the ONLY company I have encountered here in the US who calls back when a line is broken with support. Back to Spotify - I tried it for some months but I did not like the UI. Number of songs same for me, but the way they I have to "program" not very Macish for me. Had a friend in Sweden who had Spotify when they started and that was even more chaotic than Apple so wait and see!

Question about Spotify playlists.

I just made a playlist and have only added 8 songs to it thus far, all by the same artist. I was doing some vacuuming of the apartment a few minutes ago and put my headphones on and plugged into the iPhone and started listening to the playlist I made. Then a song started playing that I didn't add to the playlist. It was by the same artist that I have in it, but I don't understand why it played.

This is on the ad-supported, free version of Spotify.

It does that. It's a feature that recommends songs and fills the playlists for you. I found it quite annoying.

Thanks.

I looked through the preferences and didn't readily see anywhere to turn that off. I assume that cannot be done.

Does this occur in the premium version?

It cannot be turned off, and no it doesn't happen on Premium.

Sometimes it's not even the same artist, just a recommendation.

I´ve been using Apple Music daily since launch and i agree, Spotify is indeed more polished compared to Apple Music so for now, Spotify is where im keeping my sub.

Thanks.

I can confirm that it does not occur on Premium.
