Offline car navigation?

What are the really good car navigation applications that feature "offline" maps? That is, they store maps locally to the device and do no rely on a data connection to operate.

In the past, I've used Navigon for iOS but I'm now testing the waters in the Android environment.

and the lack of internet connection and IMO Apple maps is very good!

I didn't realise that Apple Maps works offline as well.

If I have a need for offline maps, I use NavFree. It's not as good as Waze, but for an offline mapping app, it is adequate. My only criticism is that it is somewhat inaccurate when finding places. One hotel I was looking for in downtown San Francisco was 6 blocks away from where the app said it was. I generally double check the location I am navigating to with Google Maps just in case.
