Holy thread revival batman! Why did this thread get brought back from the dead? What value was there?!?!

I like the Dell u2415 1920 x 1200 24". Nice size for productivity and nice price at around $280 (on sale/with coupons). Has nice thin bezels on top and sides. Power LED can be shut off, and the brightness does not use PWM, so it is flicker free and makes no high pitched noise. Factory color calibrated. Comes with a mini DP cable. Very power efficient. Sips power compared to my old 20" with CCFL backlight, or even apple's old 24" display.

I would have liked a 27" 1440p monitor, but at around half the price I'm very happy with this purchase.

I would avoid 1080P monitors - too narrow to my confort. 1920x1200 DELL LED 24" U2412M 8MS IPS was $238 @ newegg.com. Great monitor. Used HDMI-to-DVI cable for $7, so TB is available for something else. I have 27" ZR series 1440p HP monitor - it does not work correctly with mini over TB (the only way to connect it in MM 2012 - need to reconnect TB after reboot) and I do not really like it, can not wait to replace it with my older 1920x1200 27" DualScan monitor as it works with my new mini 2012.

I'm doing research as to what monitor would best suit my new Mac Mini (my first Mac computer of any kind).

Currently I have an ancient Benq 22" monitor with a max res of around 1600x something (dunno what, exactly). It's connected via the supplied HDMI to DVI adapter.

I'm reading about 27" monitors with 2500x1500 or similar figures but they're expensive. The standard 1920x1080 27s are more affordable but without being able to actually connect one up to the MM and to try it out, I'm reluctant to spend the money.

I'd like to hear from folks who have the larger monitors and how they go, compared to the iMac 27 or iMac 21, for example.

Thanks

Martin

Whatever you decide to connect to the the TV take a look at MonoPrice High HDMI 2.0 cables to future proof yourself.

Take a look at their promotional video:

Good info. I almost started a thread about what type of monitor do peeps use with their Mini's, but thought it might be wise to do a search first.

Anyone else care to share what they are running? Thanks.

29" 2560x 1080. 21.9 IPS

Uses: Gaming with a PC which it is great for.

2014 Mini: general usage, light video editing with iMovie (iPhone shot video)

Looking to up-grade to 34" 3440x1440 21.9 IPS when prices come down or an open box shows up at my local MC.

Yeah,

I'm currently using Crossover 290M with the same spec's...
It's great, but isn't supported by Mac, but it works because I use a regular GTX 570 in my Mac Pro... I like the think IPS panel
