I agree. But that probably would have added about $8 to the cost, thereby reducing profit. Not acceptable when they can get by with less. "-)

Yeah it's one of those things where 'hey it's just $8' but really it's $8 x 1,000,000 units potentially. That's when it really adds up. No one wants to face the board and say they gave away 100 million dollars on upgrade hits to devices across their entire offering.

I'm guessing the upgrade in RAM/Processor is to future proof the lineup ahead of iOS 13 which is rumored to be iPad focused. Can't wait to see what's coming at WWDC.
