I went from the 5s which was my first iphone, and picked up the S5 and have zero regrets and don't even miss the 5s at all. And my eyes are thanking me! :)

At least Apple is going to make the screen bigger next go round, don't really see them having a choice with more and more folks opting for that lately. Folks can keep their 4 inch iphone if they don't want to go larger but with sales forecasts being what they are for the next iphone, ....

Sounds like apple is on trouble...

Only way id ever use an s5 is if I wiped it clean of touchwiz. Samsung phones have horrific software.

As far as the Galaxy S5 goes, the fact that it has a dedicated heart rate feature is just yelling out gimmick... Pretty much any smartphone with a camera can do the same thing as accurately.

Oh... And that fact that they failed at implementing the fingerprint sensor compared to the iPhone 5s.

<prepares to be tackled>

I'd still take the S5 over the 5S gimmick or no gimmicks and even if the fingerprint scanner doesn't work.

It still has a lot going for it in my opinion.

Maybe I don't do the same things others do who notice lag or I am just oblivious. It pretty much smokes and I use the TW interface.

So those lag comparisons to the 5S are moot for me and since the S5 kills that latest iphone with regard to specs and features and I don't miss it, ....

While I do think some things about the 5s are useless like the m7 processor. Most of the features on the s5 look ridiculously gimmicky.

The hardware on the S5 looks good but the software ruins it.

The features like the FPS that does not work, and heart rate sensor that is not accurate.
Samsung should be having a re call and refunds because of FPS.

Agree, the phone is nice to hold and the screen is very nice. thats it.

Been reading the charge port breaking is happening though. That is the weak point.

Got the s4 but once the bigger iPhone comes out I'm going back to iOS. The screen is the only thing superior to iPhone. In a couple months that will be no more.

iPhone fans settle for a lot less. The iPhone can't do much but hey its an iPhone.

I've not used the S5 so don't know if said features work, but it has a lot more going for it than the heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner. Personally I'm more interested in the camera, waterproofing and download booster. The S5 doesn't rely on one gimmick to sell a phone, *cough* Siri, fingerprint scanner.

Come back when you have owned one for a month:)

Camera is not as good as 5S, its water resistant not waterproof and not in salt water, usb flap is crap, anything else you would like to know?

And its good you are interested in download booster as it will be your favourite app to keep speeding it up, better look into a app killer to for freeing up ram and to stop battery drain :)

Almost all camera test reviews rated the S5 better than Iphone.

So all your comments are just based on your personal bias view. Enough said.

Ah good old Robster3 and his "I had a galaxy S5 and it gave me issues so those apply to everyone else as well", routine.

The camera is great. Not perfect, but great. There's better low light cameras out there, including both current iPhones by a whisker, but they're pretty average too in low light.

I don't have any issues with the flap, sure, no flap would be better, but if you find it hard to use, you have dexterity issues, or no fingernails. I open mine nightly to charge my phone, any inconvenience of a flap is countered by having to only charge my phone once nightly , it's a good trade off.

The battery life is great, it even charges faster than an iPhone 5S, but robster will tell you the 5S charges twice as quick, lol.

Basically, don't listen to Robster if you want objective opinions, he just love bagging anything Samsung, doesn't do anyone any favors really.

No my actual use of one for a month, not a 5min review you have read. But believe what you want.
Have you owned one for a month?

I've had the 5S and now have the note 3. I've found the camera on the note 3 to be better overall than that of 5S. The S5's camera is an upgrade over the note 3 's camera. I'm currently using a note 3 and before that used an S4, I've not experienced lag or battery drain. 2GB and even 3GB of ram on the note 3 is more than enough. Having used galaxy phones for the past 2 years I think I'd know what to expect. I've used iPhones in the past and at the start of the year had the 5S for a month and I've still got iPads so I have a pretty good idea of what the iPhone has to offer.

Give it time the flap issues are happening, will be their reason for not honouring warranty re water too. Watch this space.
Try charging a S5 and 5S off a macbook pro, the 5S is way way faster. But then i wouldn't know even though i did it for a month lol:p

I don't have a problem samsung i just call it how it is, some are so one eyed they can't see, not just Samsung, Apple too.

Maybe if the S5 had 3gb it would of been better. I had a note 3 that had been modified and sold it as knox was tripped and couldn't be updated and no warranty, got the S5, should of just kept the note.
The note 3 is their best and the only samsung phone that has held value, they are still close to original price here new.
Then note 4 should be a ripper.

I meant the camera on 5S is way easier to use, i don't know as far as comparing quality. I use a real camera. I didnt take heaps of photos it was a pain to use and You can go make a cup of tea while the 5S takes a indoor photo :)

Ok I'll give you that the camera on the 5S is easier to use, but I'm more interested in image quality and the camera on the S4 and Note 3 aren't hard to use. I also agree that the note line is better than the S line, I'm waiting for the note 4 myself. It's most likely my next phone and will make my third note (I had the original) .

Don't forget about voice on the Samsung phones. You can enable voice and never have to touch the phone to get a shot. All you have to to do is say "shoot" and it will take the picture. Way more easier.........Better camera and voted better display as well.

I think the general consensus is the s5 sucks (unless you root it wash yourself clean of touchwiz).

If your gonna go android get a nexus or moto x. Those are probably the 2 best on the market.

Don't get too excited, I sold my S5 and went back to a 5S, lag, restarts, battery drain, ram sucker, all part of the Samsung Android experience.
Anyone that says the S5 camera is better has never used both or have another agenda.

I've used both. I think the S5 takes better outdoor pictures. I do agree with you on the lag, which was one of my couple of reasons for returning it.

Still slow, be careful taking a photo in public saying shoot :p Display is only better as its bigger, you can hardly see it outside in sun.

Disagree. The display of the s5 is better all around. I had no problems with it in the sun.

I returned my s5 and went back to my 5s, a while back. I couldn't deal with the random problems and lag the phone had... That and 16gb wasn't enough. The phone had so much potential though, and wasn't as bad as you make it out to be. The s5 was superior on many fronts, the battery being a big one.
