All of this installed on my iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1. I've had absolutely no crashes since I've upgraded from 5.1.1 and jailbroken. I thought the 5.1.1 jailbreak was stable, but the evasi0n jailbreak is even better. To top it off, I also consistently get 7 hours of actual usage on each battery charge. There are days I try to get my battery to die and literally can't lol I use a lot of activator gestures, I know a lot of people blame battery drain on that, but I am more than happy with my phones battery life. No excessive battery drain, more functionality from my phone, makes me one happy customer.

If you don't have the time to do a little research on the tweaks and apps you install then jail breaking really isn't for you, so please don't give it a bad reputation. If you can manage to do a little research before installing a bunch of stuff, jailbreaking will make you appreciate your phone a LOT more.

To the OP: Auxo was just updated today, along with ProTube. Maybe if you had waited a day...

Sigh, when will people learn?

You don't need 7000 tweaks to enjoy a jailbroken device.

You need maybe 4-5 tweaks that you use tastefully. I use a custom lockscreen with lockscreen notifications, a theme with customized icons, fluxx, Retina Pad and XBMC with XBMC sources.

My device runs awesome, looks great and I always get questions about how I made my iPad that way.

Auxo
Appcent
Winterboard with Ayecon
Springtomize 2
Forecast
LivelyIcon
Nitrous
Barrel
SwipeSelection
iCleaner
Bars
CameraTweak
Color keyboard w/Phatbook Air theme
KillBackground
NoCoverFlow
Unfold
Zepplin

You had some pointless tweaks.

AppCent - do you really need to see the percentage of the download?
Bars - pointless.
KillBackground - no need since Auxo had that built in
Barrel - wtf..

Put tweaks that actually do something useful and you shouldn't have an issue.

After having a jailbroken iphone 4 for about 2 weeks, I think I'm going to restore it to the stock iOS. I've had nothing but crash after crash after installing and deleting multiple apps and tweaks. It's just too unreliable for me. Other than theming the phone and having some neat little tweaks, there's nothing really that I need that the stock iOS doesn't already offer me, other than reliaiblity. So while it's been a fun little ride, I'm switching back. As I'm typing this now, I can't even get my phone to turn on. The only thing I will really miss is Forecast. The current apps/tweaks I have installed that have been crashing my phone are as follows:

Auxo
Appcent
Winterboard with Ayecon
Springtomize 2
Forecast
LivelyIcon
Nitrous
Barrel
SwipeSelection
iCleaner
Bars
CameraTweak
Color keyboard w/Phatbook Air theme
KillBackground
NoCoverFlow
Unfold
Zepplin

looks like your using out of date or pirated apps, because I have all those apps installed plus more and my iphone 5 works fine, granted its a much more powerful phone then the iphone 4 your phone still should not be crashing like that. have fun on stock ios.

Most of the things you listed OP are paid for apps, and for you to just leave all those tweeks/apps behind makes me wonder if you even purchased the products.

I paid for almost all of my Cydia tweaks, other than the ones I downloaded for free from Cydia itself. Can cracked apps downloaded from other repos contain bugs/malware/viruses that can crash your phone? Just curious.

I was thinking about using Auxo, but wasn't sure if it's a memory/battery hog, and could cause instability issues. Is it worth the money?

I like Auxo... no problems thus far. Maybe a crash when unlocking the phone but that could also be lockinfo

“Top” is in the “top” package under Sections > Administration in Cydia. As with adv-cmds, it's only available if you've declared yourself to be a Developer at initially starting Cydia. If you haven't, you can always change it by going to Sources > Settings.

Thank you!!! I'm loving Top.

Edit: Just noticed every time I run top a new top process is created, and the others stay running even when exiting Mobile Terminal. My phone was dogged and I discovered via Google top -o cpu which allows me to sort the process list by CPU drain. That worked great but it showed ~10 top processes. Can't figure out how to quit top once it's started outside of memorizing top's pid, exiting Mobile Terminal, opening it again, and running kill pid. A reboot wiped my mess clean, but how do you stop top in the same session you start it? (I'm sure I'm being stupid here...)

Could very well also be NoCoverFlow. I had that installed initially when I upgraded/jailbroke 6.1 and every time I turned my phone with music playing.. *crash* Not sure if it's been updated since, but I haven't crashed once since uninstalling it.

I dont know what to say. My iPhone 5 is running so great. It never crashes on me. Running smoothly ... Been jailbreaking since 2007 and I've learned a lot. I remember my first jailbreak ...Crash after Crash ... respring respiring and finally SAFE mode !

P.S.

Pay for your apps on Cydia people ! Your phone actually runs a lot better ! lol. Learned the hard way.

The beauty of choice !

My tweaks allow me to use my ip5 how I choose to and now how Apple deem by sand boxing their devices.

Perhaps iOS 7 will bring to your phone what your wanting.

I concur with the ethos of not downloading copious amounts of tweaks and doing some homework on them before downloading.

It's not enough just to accept the description of the tweak saying its iOS 6 compatable.

I'll end by saying enjoy your phone in whatever state you want it.

That's part of my frustration. I don't know what's incompatible and what tweaks work with others and what not. I've downloaded and deleted so many different combinations of apps and tweaks and I still have multiple crashes a day. It's really annoying. I don't have the tech background to see how the memory is effected and how to make my iphone run efficiently. Maybe I'll just leave it up to all you brilliant tech minds :D

I'm going to come to your defense because I think you are getting unfairly criticized for not having a successful jailbreaking experience. I admit, I have had problems jailbreaking before, but I worked through many of them and am a proponent of jailbreaking today.

Jailbreakers tend to be an opinionated, and sometimes defensive group. Your experience isn't that uncommon. A lot of people jailbreak only to return to stock a week later thinking you have to be a hacker or programmer to do it correctly. You don't. All you need is one or two good resources to show you how it's done. And THAT is the problem. I've seen a bunch of disorganized, poorly written resources out there that look like a 5th grader wrote it. There is simply no good resources for the beginner that explains easily how and why things crash, and the what to do about it.

All of the apps/tweaks I have bought from Cydia, I don't believe in pirated apps. I have no problem paying people for the time and work they've put into developing their technology. I've done my homework on apps that were supposed to be compatible on the new iOS and only use reliable sources from Cydia. I've since deleted some of the apps on the phone and it seems to work a little better, but only time will tell. I do enjoy this site and the wealth of knowledge that you guys share. Keep it up!
