Oh hell no. After going through such a bad experience I don't think I'll ever be buying from the apple online store. The only reason I purchased from there was because I was visiting parents in Atlanta on my summer vacations. Only a week's more holidays left and then im going back home. I'm definitely going to go to a retail store and demand to play with the machine for a long time and make certain it's in tip top shape before forking over another 2000 dollars.

The thing that will suck for the original poster is, you will wait until they come out with a new model, then you will have to wait months before its safe to buy. Then if you wait 3 months when all the bugs are worked out, a few months after that a even better new model will come out. this new model will be 4 to 5 times faster and do more right "out of the box".

... keeping in mind that it could die a week later (after having run perfectly the first week), just like your two MacBooks did.

True True, but at least i'll have the peace of mind that it won't crap out on me in the first hour. Like the first macbook did, started mooing. I ignored the moo for a week hoping for the firmware upgrade but then it started creaking so I got fed up and exchanged it, didn't have much luck with the 2nd one either as you know.

I'm just hoping I get one of the good ones when the Merom comes out, my luck can't be that bad lol.
