Haha I just went through the lovely experience on setting up one at my house a few weeks ago. Took forever for me to figure out how to get plex media server to work outside my network. Have to use port forwarding on the modem itself even when the damn thing is in their strange version of bridged mode. Plex media server has been the only thing that I've had to do that for so far, but meh way too much reading about that nvg589 gateway.
Neighbor has Uverse and had issues with routers and Internet and streaming etc (they have a bar outside also), wonder if that's what happened. Took forever with AT&T out multiple times trying to fix and get it to all work together. I have Comcast and no issues with router changing, and Plex works perfect, set it up to stream through Chromecast if I want which is pretty cool as it'll work outside and no buffering HD vids.

I actually pre-ordered it and cancelled yesterday after I read On Hub can change settings around if it thinks it will improve performance and sometimes they can be wrong.
