According to everyone I talk to, Google is the company ran by the good guys. >_>

Still trying to grasp what has to do "being good guys" (whatever means) with a company using its own service

Really, what point do you try to make? A company must give away anything to other companies?

You'll be astonished when you know that Google has better access to maps than any other company using that API. They must be evil

Also, you're ignoring my actual argument about Android. There are major issues with AOSP that aren't fixed. They don't get fixed because most companies just pay Google to be able to sit their services on it (which fixed a lot of the issues).
...
By the way, it's nice to know that I shouldn't bother responding after this. Your response made it kind of obvious that you're not a serious poster.

I read somewhere that 20 percent of all android tablets sold worldwide are low end devices running nothing but ASAP being sold in places like India and China so this tells me that at least some people find the usability sufficient.

Unlike many people on this forum I am fairly upfront about my biases, but that doesn't mean I can't have a productive discussion.

Or how about abusing the ticking system with Chrome that leads to it draining battery life on laptops?

What do you mean by this?

We could start off with them not being hypocrites. Or we could start with them not making up random things that Microsoft needs to do only after they finish the app. Oh, and for the record... there are plenty of YouTube apps out there that aren't completely HTML5. So I was wrong to agree that others have to follow the guidelines.

A bug on Chrome for Windows. Now it seems that it really is a conspiracy by Google to make Windows look bad

No, it isn't a bug. If you look at the back and forth between an Intel employee and part of the Chrome team, it was an intentional ploy to make sure their browser seemed faster. It can't be a bug if it was in there by design.

Edit: I didn't say it was to make Windows look bad, for the record. But it does show that Google has no real regard for Windows laptop users.

Hypocrites for what? Really, what point are you trying to do_ Or are you kust bashing Google for the sake of bashing them_

Do you know how 1st party and 3rd party apps work?

Or we could start with them not making up random things that Microsoft needs to do only after they finish the app.

Wrong, the requirements for 3rd party apps have been know since years ago.

Oh, and for the record... there are plenty of YouTube apps out there that aren't completely HTML5. So I was wrong to agree that others have to follow the guidelines.

Perhaps because the requirements are not being HTML5

No, the only thing that has being shows is what you think about them

No, the only thing that has being shows is what you think about them

A) Yes, I know the difference between first and third party apps.
B) And yet not everyone has to follow them.
C) That's the second (or third, I forget) reason why they denied it. First was because third party apps aren't allowed to block ads. Go to your favorite app store, you'll find a ton of those that violate that. And, yes, one of the things was that it must be HTML5.

http://www.ecommercetimes.com/rsstory/78744.html

Yet others don't have to do that. Weird.

Apparently the first reason was because it allowed you to download YouTube videos. That is bad, it allows you to not watch ads. It's a good thing that Google is all about you not downloading videos. Of course, that's ignoring that you can easily just download it with an extension from the Chrome Web Store.

But, hey, this is about how Microsoft is wrong for letting you download videos. It's an app thing. Google's own app doesn't allow that, unless you mean to download it for viewing later on in their Android app.

D) I get that you like Google. You probably would defend any action they made. They could probably punt kittens into a woodchopper and you'd come up with some excuse. But the simple fact is that they've shown a disregard for Windows users through their "feature" in Chrome and their UI in the Modern Interface. The simple fact that you don't want to see that is irrelevant.
