I have never owned an iPhone but my boss has the iPhone 11 Pro or Max. Tough keeping up with all the different models but my P4a is definitely smaller and narrower. When you get it you can compare them side by side. The size though is not a big deal. It's actually welcomed because 5 yrs ago I made the jump to big phones with the Nexus 6. So leaving that for the P4a has taken an adjustment for me but I'm getting used to it. It's really light but doesn't feel cheap. I can slip it in my back pocket without fear of snapping it in two. The phone I should have gotten was the Pixel 4a 5G. That's a bigger phone and probably should have been named the Pixel 4a XL.

I would've gotten blue had I known it'd be available early on. OTOH, being in "waiting mode" may have resulted in me never bothering in the first place, so I digress.
The Pixel 4a 5G is $50 off in the Google store @$449 til tomorrow. Can probably still do it tomorrow so one more day.
It's actually $40 0ff @ $459 which is the price I posted in the BF thread. I did check on the Google Store and it's still $459.
I got an email, could of swore it was $449. I even went in the store for a trade in but my 4a isn't listed to trade in. I deleted the Email and don't see how to retrieve it in Gmail. Either way I'm passing since I can't trade in my 4a

Very satisfied with it. Compared to my last phone (LG G4), I've been comparing the 2 (P4A) using the same spots (e.g. at home, at work at my office, in the restroom, at the Walmart, etc.). I even get signal at one area that I didn't before!
Rumor has it the clearly white Verizon exclusive 4a 5g is set to be released unlocked from google on the 28th.

If the Pixel 4a has the worst OLED display on any device then your experience with OLED screen devices must be limited.
You must have only ever used top end Samsungs or similar.
The P4a has a better screen than on my Nexus 6. If you think the P4a has a lousy screen there's an easy solution. Return it get your money back and buy something else that makes you happy.
And i'll just add even if the P4a really has a terrible screen. How many phones priced at $349 and even less when the P4a went on sale have OLED screens? Not many, that's for sure.
Was sort of poking around the idea of snagging the 5g version but heard something about a touch screen issue and that makes me leary since my 6p had an issue like that

The touch screen on my 4a 5G has been working just fine. I was actually not aware of an issue, and there's no talk of it on the Android forum I monitor.
Seems it might be a software bug related to the Dec update. Not good but at least it’s fixable.

The problem popped up with the December security patch, but should be resolved soon

I recently updated to Android 12 on this phone.I have 1 issue. Some of my fonts on apps and random other places instead of a solid font has outlined fonts.
Like in the weather app pic here. They are supposed to solid and different colors. On another pic they are randomly outlined fonts and also supposed to be either green or red per the app itself.
Can this be because some apps aren't optimized for Android 12 yet?
In the 3rd pic, where it says update, that isn't the style normally used.
Weird and I can't change it or find with is happening and why I'm asking if anyone with better knowledge than I knows.
