Is that the annoying thing where it captures almost like a 1 second video before capture? I hate that with a passion. But yes, pixel has something similar, which I turn off immediately 😁.
Hahaha I always use it. I think it’s seconds before and after hitting the shutter. I like that it captures the while moment and also sounds. Don’t take pics of landscapes so it’s useful.

Forgive my laziness but anyone here using the official Pixel case from Google? Thoughts?

I’d ideally prefer a case where they integrated the magsafe ring but there really isn’t anything out right now. I also don’t want something very chunky…would love a very slim design. Also, have seen the aramid (sp?) fiber cases and don’t really like those aesthetically.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I have the mous magsafe. Latches on fine. Stops the wireless charging unless it's my magsafe battery pack

I am using a Ringke MagSafe case, it is slim and has grip.

I'm rocking the dark color official Google case. It's a very cushiony comfortable feeling case. Not the thinnest slim case no, but not fat thick either, it's in the middle as far as thickness goes. But it does feel great in the hand, and looks good. I wish I got the grey / Hazel color case instead.

Thanks all but I forgot to add one important point--I'm looking for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Sadly not much out yet for the 9PF. Mous looks nice but it's still just pre-order and doesn't have MagSafe. Looks like the few cases trying to include MagSafe estimated the charging coil location quite poorly. it's lower than you'd expect on the 9PF.

So looks like the UK Google store (as at this afternoon) has stock of the lower storage models of Pixel Folds and normal 9 Pros for delivery Monday. Seems the lower storage stock was not released during preorder period as they were giving the double storage devices for same price.

Still no movement at all on my 256gb 9 Pro. If it wasn't for the higher trade in valuation from when I ordered versus now (about £90 less now) id have just ordered the smaller storage as I pay for Google 1 so don't need on device. Alas, stilllllll waiting. I'm so impatient having had a taste of the 9 Pro XL and dealing with the rubbish battery of this P8.

No because none of them work

However I've used the Spigen magsafe ring on my Spigen Slim Armor Pro case and it works faultlessly..

Pics should be on here a page or 2 back...

Case came in.. very slim with no edge protection on the front. I got it with some credits and discount otherwise I wouldn't pay this much for a clear case. I will give it a run and see how it holds up with scratches.

Yeah I have a ring mounted as well, didn't get the positioning perfect myself (or I think it actually shifted a little) so I need to redo it or just wait on a better case option. It's weirdly lower than you'd think it would be. I have a first gen Pixel Stand and the charging coil is even too low to work with Google's own stand.

I don’t remember being able to run app on the phone while the other app is running on the car screen. Is that new?

I mounted the ring to my magsafe charging stand first and then aligned the back of the Fold that way, but only pressed it down lightly so if I needed to straighten it I could; which I did.

The location is spot on and it charges faultlessly

I am seriously impressed with some of the examples I've seen of the re-imagine feature, particularly some of the examples in this thread like the pepperoni pizza one and also Becca Farsace's review. Google are in a predicament because they can't really promote those realistic examples like the pizza because it would cause a potential PR stink so they have to use contrived dumb examples instead that make the feature look harmless.

9 pro zoom test .5 to 20x zoom.

Not quite 23 ultra level, but still damn impressive for a phone.

Pixel colors are always great, they really nail white balance and overall color. The problem is neither the iPhone nor the Pixel beats the other in most categories, it's very circumstantial and in some areas the Pixel wins over the iPhone (colors) and other times the iPhone wins over the Pixel (portrait mode, video, etc.). This is the biggest reason I want a Pixel, sometimes it's clear when the Pixel will take a better photo. But if all I want to use the Pixel for is photos at that point I might as well start carrying a small camera around... but that's too inconvenient.

I really hate how the iPhone handles color sometimes, the image is always too green especially if there's a lot of foliage in the shot. iPhone greens are the worst and it makes landscape shots look really bad. iPhone always compresses the subtle gradient of greens/yellows in foliage so everything looks like a green blob.

Anyone know when the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Watch 3 reviews will start to drop? I will be watching the Apple event closely tomorrow, BUT if they underwhelm me i’m thinking about keeping my iPhone as my second phone and trading in my S24 Ultra towards the Pixel 9 XL.

BUT for me i still need a good smart watch, which my Apple Watch Ultra is, accurate when running which i do a lot of. I also love my AirPods Pro 2, so anything that can rival those would be great. I like the form factor of the Pixel Watch 3, especially now that they have made a bigger version. Gemini Live on the Pixel buds sounds awesome, at least from the demo we all saw when watching the Pixel event.
