no joke. I have a 7+ matte black (since release day) and don't use a case and have zero scratches.

I don't think I've owned a phone that didn't scratch easily. Hence why I always use a case and screen protector.

For me, it used to be keys that were the culprit. I had a tendency to put my phone in my pocket and then toss my keys in the same pocket not thinking about it. I have since become aware of this and worked to keep that from happening.

Use my Pixel without a case, got 1 TINY mark on the chamfered edge, it's so small it wouldn't be visible if it wasn't for the fact it's silver and my Pixel is the black one.
