Turning OFF (using the slider to OFF) is just that, powering OFF. The procedure I described is more like a reboot in that it puts everything back in order, like when you restart your computer. It's also useful after installing a lot of app updates in case something is acting wonky. :)

How you fix this problem:- On Iphone go to :- Settings-Safari-Advanced-Website Data, Remove All Website Data.
Now re-try.

NOPE that didn't work either....and mine just stopped working today...yesterday it was working fine, reseting, deleting cookies...does not work...your solution is just another method of deleting cookies

Just found a solution: go into safari settings and change your search engine to one of the other choices (bing or yahoo) then change it back to google...I did this and now it's working

I never noticed the tabs across the top of Google search on my iPhone 4 - thanks for the tip!! My "images" search works just fine and I'm also on 5.1.1. I do have cookies enabled until they expire. Maybe that has something to do with your issue?

Yesss!! I fixed it! No joke. I went in the root filesystem and did some simple tweaking in the searchengine pref plist. Now it works. I tried 4 iphones and an ipad to make sure thi was working. Anyone who want me to explain. Send me a message duzeaux@live.nl

But before you do, make sure you have a program that lets you browse your filesystem. I used diskaid free version. There are plenty of those tools.
