Google Sync: I use it, and LOVE it!

I used to have a T-Mobile G1 and really appreciated the seamless integration with Google products and services. That's why I was hesitant about getting an iPhone, but Google Sync has made it such a breeze! Now, I get the best of both worlds — Apple and Google all in one!

That being said, I still plan to keep my MobileMe account after the 60-day trial, primarily for the iDisk feature. Still a student, I love being able to sync my two computers so effortlessly. It's better than carrying around a flash drive, IMO, back and forth to school. (Yes, I'm aware that there are other free services that would effectively accomplish the same thing, but I prefer the ease of use that MobileMe appears to provide.)

Has google sync changed or something? Iam trying to backup my contacts again as ive added a few more numbers but once I try to sync it in iTunes isnt not copying over the new contacts.

Any ideas?

Ive just setup google calenders with the CalDAV Account and that works great so far :D

If you just want to backup google contacts, use the export function from the google contacts web page (use the google .csv format).

I was using Google Sync with my iPhone, but i just find it too unreliable. It starts pushing emails, but after a day or two, emails don't push. Even if i manually check for new email, they still don't appear. Went back to 30 min fetch. For the contacts and calendar sync i just rely on iTunes sync.

There's periods where the email sync is awful. It can very from hour to hour or day to day. We're just in a bad patch right now.

I just dropped Google like a bad habit. I was constantly having to change my password due to "suspicious activity". That got old very fast. I was doing that once or twice a week no matter how complex my password was.
