I've had GV since July 8th; so I'm not sure what you're talking about. GV is activated only by invitation and I've got my GV phone number up and running....

UPDATE: There's a CHANGE/UPDATE within Cydia; everything is fine now.....:p:p:p

GV Mobile brings the power of Google Voice to your iPhone. (GV Mobile is not a product of Google).

GV Mobile allows users of Google Voice to:

Dial numbers via the iPhone address book or typing on the keypad
Full SMS support (view historic, reply, send new)
Retrieve and delete recent call history
Playback and delete voicemails
Take calls from different phones other than your iPhone
Enable or disable the phones that Google Voice forwards calls to
Add or delete phones that Google Voice forwards call to.

Mine works but it won't let me login. Is the account separate from a gmail account?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

If your GV account is tied to your Gmail account, then they're the same. But you need to actually sign up for GV to use it, and it's currently in invite-only beta, unless you had a Grand Central account.

The app is crack aware and will not let you login unless you purchase it. He mentioned this on his website. Bummer that Apple took it off the app store. Hopefully he will release it on Cydia.

Am I the only one that feels a little uncomfortable giving full access to your gmail account that isn't an official app???

I really lucked out since I downloaded the counterpart Voice central before it was pulled, but just some food for thought.

Works great for me. I really like it, but it is a very valid concern about what an "unofficial" app might be doing with your account info.

I don't see it. Is the app just called gv mobile?
edit: nvm, refresh of cydia did the trick.

btw, this app is amazing

I understand why one might want the call forwarding, but why would anyone want GV Mobile when the iPhone can already handle most of these features with its built in software?

The main reason why I use it is for free unlimited sms. The app is very slow at connecting to the server though.

If you have this app with and active google voice and a sipphone you can make unlimited free phone calls on top of all those other features. I'd say that is why this is a big deal to apple and us.
