His Uncle was joking obviously. No one shells out that amount of dough and not know a little about it. He must have known his nephew would be thrilled. Many would!

Did it come in a box with a reciept? Seriously, if it is someones that lost it that is not cool! Just saying, would you want that to happen to you?
Do the right thing, return it to the owner or karma is going to bite you in the ass and you know it.

There's a pretty simple way to figure out what's what without giving your uncle the third degree. Simply mention to him that you'd like to have the box the iPad came in, because of your love for all things Apple (including their packaging). If he can't produce the box, then something might be fishy.

seriously, enjoy your iPad and, in the absence of evidence of wrongdoing, don't speculate. Gifts traditionally come with no evidence of being bought, and there are plenty of reasons to explain why he wouldn't have the box, including simply wanting to hand it to you in the case, all ready to go.
I know some of yall are salty......if it didn't happen to you, you guys are quick to say "you better return it......karma this....karma that...." I wonder if it would of happened to one of yall, would you still be saying that?
