Ma
Day Early, as you can see the side of the box is now clearly labeled with 1080p

Wish my Ipad was a day early :(

Great!!! Now go get your copy of "The Notebook" on 1080p, it's going to look great! :D

That's pretty cool, most people are getting theirs today, finally the Jailbreaker will have some real hardware and we can also get some look of the insides =)

I'm sure the insides will be identical except for the new chip. I'm curious to see how the new blu ray 1080p encodes will look at actual 1080p res.

That's is exactly what i want to know about it, "the new chip" i want to know if the GPU is still dual core, if they reduce or increased the bus memory or anything of that matter.

Do you have any iTunes 1080p movies? If so, is there a noticeable difference? Any other surprises?

Got mine already too! iTunes does have 1080p movies and TV shows. According to ArsTechnica, iTunes 1080p is obviously not as good as a straight up blu-ray, but it comes really close. Especially considering how compressed the file is.

Thanks. I knew iTunes has the 1080p, but I was hoping somebody already had a 1080p movie downloaded to test it out right away for a testimonial.

Unfortunately I'm at work and won't get to try it till tonight

Got mine as well!

Ditto here too. Haven't put much time into it yet, but will have to check out the different between ATV2 and ATV3 with 1080p content. I roll my own, so won't have any details on how the iTunes content looks. So far, not seeing anything too different than my ATV2 with 1080p (42" LCD at ~6' away). Mostly just happy the ATV2 now plays the 1080p files smoothly since the update last week. Not sure I'll get too much more out of the ATV3, but nice to have them around the house.

Got mine as well, watching it right now. Our apple tv2 is being relocated to the kids playroom in a bit.

Does anyone have an ATV 2 and 3? Can you compare the same movie on both? Is the 1080 that much better than the 720?

Netflix streaming and MLB streaming look better on ATV3. I have the ATV2 and 3 on same tv and switch back and forth. ATV2 looks softer with Netflix and MLB. Haven't watched any iTunes movies.

darster, that's very good news.

Would you happen to have any Blu Ray rips remuxed (not downconverted but just transferring the full BD video file into an .m4v container) that maybe has some fast-moving action (lots of stuff happening on screen) to test? Lots of people are wanting to know if the new box can handle BD-level demands.

Some have posted that after the OS upgrade, :apple:TV2 had no problem with up to 25Mbps video remuxed from BD. Just wondering if :apple:TV3 (at 1080p) can handle it too.
