Hey guys, I had another thread going on a GPU replacement however I wanted to ask a slightly different question here. Since OS X Snow Leopard is the last OS to have Rosetta (enabling me to use many PowerPC application(s) and providing nostalgia), I would like to dual boot with El Capitan (latest OS my Mac Pro 3,1 supports) and Snow Leopard. My problem is that the current graphics card (ATI Radeon 2600 XT) is failing and most of the time shows no display and therefore I want to find a replacement. I need a card that is going to work with EFI so that I can use it for changing the boot drive before the OS loads and for if I need to troubleshoot. I assume my options are limited to preowned/refurbished cards from ebay etc. I would like to spend no more than about £60 if possible. Would anyone be able to provide a list of mac cards that are available and work with snow leopard and up + on boot?

As for flashing PC cards to work, I have no knowledge on how to do this and finding a used card and a ROM that is compatible with that EXACT model is something I would have no idea where to start with.

Also, I'm in the UK and therefore buying from places located in the US is a no go due to import tax etc.

Thanks!

I build my own computers, and I have a 2010 Core i7 running Snow Leopard with a GTS 250. I also have a late model Core i5 running El Capitan and Sierra with a GTS 250 and both work great. Both video cards have 1 GB VRAM. These cards are still available on eBay. Mine were purchased new a number of years ago when they were cutting edge technology. I also have computers with the following video cards: GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980ti.
