Grooveshark Removed

Sad to see it gone but for those of us who were lucky enough to get it before it was pulled, enjoy the music! 
I got it before they pulled it. But I was looking forward to a multitasking update

You can still get it in Cydia but I can't post the repo here. It took me about 10 minutes to find the repo.
One of the music labels supposedly had a problem with Grooveshark on the iPhone yet it's still available for Blackberry and Android.
While Grooveshark was waiting for the app to be available in iTunes, it was made available through Grooveshark in Cydia. Once it was made available on iTunes, it was pulled from the Big Boss repo in Cydia.
Since the music label has a problem with the app, it's no longer in iTunes and most likely won't be placed by Grooveshark in Cydia again. Getting it through an alternate repo is our only choice now though it is version 1.5.2, the last version that was available when it was pulled from the app store.
Quick google for Grooveshark 1.5.2 revealed the .deb package.

No, it's not like Spotify. They have an agreement with only one of the big record companies (which only happened after going to court), which means that only a very small percentage of the music they provide they actually have license to provide.
Grooveshark is a cancer for both customers (with the future of Spotify, Rdio etc etc etc) and artists.
No, it can't be posted here because as I said above, the repo has allot of pirated apps in it. Just search for Grooveshark Cydia Repo. I think I found it near the bottom of the first page or on the second page.
Agreed. Grooveshark is in agreement with one major label and hopefully they come to terms with the one that had a disagreement so that this great app can be put back in the app store. Forget all the rest of the music apps.
This one allows your own music to be uploaded and you can have all kinds of playlists and favorites. All of those other music apps got nothing on Grooveshark.
Short term, yes.
However it's stealing attention, money, users etc etc from services that are actually viable in the long term. You're trapped in a basement for 20 days with just very limited food. When you get hungry at day one, do you eat it all or do you spread it out over the 20 days and survive (which is obviously better for you, although you'd be happier the first day if you had eaten it all then..when you get hungry the next couple of days..not so much).
Grooveshark has the potential to kill all streaming services and send us all back to iTunes. Don't let it happen even if you, if living in USA etc, don't have any service that is as good right now (a lot of Europe do, with Spotify that is superior). You'll get there. Don't destroy the fun for everybody else, your children and grandchildren.
I will continue to use Grooveshark. Nothing else compares so why should I use another service that I don't like as much? I can find and listen to just about any song that I want to listen to when I want. Not some song that the service thinks I may like. If the song isn't there and I have it on my computer, I can upload it and have it to listen to on Grooveshark.

It may be possible that there is no other service that is as good in USA (you're american right?) at the moment (Spotify is though - it has pretty much everything Grooveshark does and much more /it does indeed have support for your own music, even for cacheing music on you're computer/phone/whatever to avoid having to rely on internet/3G etc). Why you shouldn't use it? For the same reason that you don't do things that are good for you in short term, bad for everybody in long term. Because it's illegal (pretty much), and because they are some dirty bastards that put all responsibility on their users..which means that they won't be the ones in trouble - the users will.
Of course there is something wrong with that. For the very, very large majority of the service they provide it would be less illegal for you to use torrents to download whatever you want! And better for everybody else.
But there is already one of the major record labels behind Grooveshark so how is that bad? It's not illegal if they are supporting it.
The one label that objected to iTunes most likely had a problem with something the app was allowing. They didn't object to the Android and Blackberry apps. It's not illegal in anyway.
