The GT130 is just a rebadged 9x series card. Not sure which one, because at this point, Nvidia has rebadged the G92 cards 2-3x already, which is downright ridiculous.

Go with the 4850 though - it will be faster across the board, and in newer games, by a lot (plus, ATI writes better drivers for Mac OS X)

There the 9600 GT and Nvidia GT 130 are in the same category.

I did not realize there are 2 versions of the HD4850 and found this out on another post. I checked with apple and confirmed that it is the Mobility version of the card. I posted this on the other post but this one seems to have more followers and hopefully someone can address the difference between the 2 versions on the HD4850 and whether there is enough difference between the GT130 and the Mobility version of the HD4850 to justify the cost difference and the 6 week delay in shipping.

Problem is that Mobility versions are usually in the range of 20 - 50% slower than the full desktop card

I think it is quite clear that the ATI Radeon HD 4850 is the better graphics card. All of the benchmark tests clearly show that it beats the NVIDIA card. Just because a card carries the name "NVIDIA" does not automatically make it a higher performance card. Their name might be a little more respected now, but ATI has been making high quality cards for a long time. I definitely think it would be worth a few weeks wait to get the HD 4850, otherwise over time you will wish that you picked the other card.
