Been playing San Andreas all day. Once bought all the games up to San Andreas in a pack for €7,- and now it runs on OS X. The weird thing is; it runs better on OS X (Lion) than on Windows 7 in my case. The Windows version was almost unusable due to bugs in driving, swimming, shooting while walking etc.

I am very happy!

Friend of mine picked up SA from steam and his computer runs it perfectly. I myself am pretty pissed as I bought it from the app store last year with an identically specced macbook pro and the game was almost unplayable due to the stutter. Anyone know if the steam version is updated / if so is there anyway i can get my hands on the update without having to repurchase the same game again...? Rockstar are being shy and not replying to my emails.

Did you buy your copy of GTA: SA from the Mac App Store or from Steam?

As far as I know, if you bought your version of GTA:SA from MAS, then you're stuck with whatever version they have of it there. One of the posters in this thread said the version of GTA:SA on Steam is most likely updated and is newer than the version on MAS. You have no choice maybe except to now buy the game from Steam.

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I've just discovered that GTA:SA has been pulled from the MAS. It's no longer available to purchase now, and a search turns up nothing. However, people who have bought it before from the MAS (like me), can still redownload it from MAS if it's uninstalled (which I am doing now).

The Steam version still won't launch at all for me :( And Steam support isn't being helpful either. They just told me that troubleshooting & after sales support for GTA:SA on Steam is being handled by a 3rd-party. So what? I have half a mind to demand a refund from Steam...

I can confirm that the steam version uses a newer version than MAS did (uness MAS have updated very recently).

I've not played the MAS version on my computer, but GTA SA is very smooth on my machine. Got everything maxed and I'm pretty sure the game is 60 FPS at all times

Game Crashess!! Please Help

Okay please desperately need help because steam is not very helpful...in fact not at all. I downloaded the game and after it says preparing to launch it crashes. Ive updated my software, verified the game, and reinstalled it and nothing has worked. Please help me

GTA on Mac... everywhere

GTA on Mac, not IV, is on a lot of sites... Mac App Store has it but Steam may push sale... not that $15-$10 is pricy on Steam.

Take Two should push all its games on SteamPlay... plus glad to see 2K games on App Store now too... Civ V, Darkness II, and more.

You need to delete the Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ (~ = /Users/youruser/)

GTA: San Andreas for mac took 3 hours to download via Steam. Once it finished downlpading, I quickly clicked 'Play' in Steam. Darn thing won't even start :( All I got was a quick notification saying Steam is peparing to launch the game then suddenly this:

Application load error 5:0000065434

I'm frustrated to say the least.

Any ideas what could be the cause & what's a fix for it? FYI, I'm using a mid-2011 iMac 27" i5 with 4GB RAM running OSX 10.7.3.

If it's worth anything, just prior to purchasing the game on Steam, I uninstalled the GTA: San Andreas version I got from the Mac App Store by clicking on it's icon in Launchpad then clicking the cross when it appears. Is that enough to delete all previous game data? Any folders I need to specifically go to to delete all the previous install data? It might be the reason why the error is popping up in the Steam version of San Andreas.

Any help appreciated!
