Anyone want to bother calculating the average to see what the "wisdom of the crowds" reveals to us?

Unless I made an error, the current crowd wisdom after 324 votes is estimating it on Sunday July 22nd, or rounding up, Monday July 23rd.

Unless I made an error, the current crowd wisdom is estimating it on Saturday July 21st, or rounding up, Sunday July 22nd. Seems our crowd is too small or too dumb. I don't think there has ever been a weekend release.

Or in this case, the average is a poor indicator of crowd wisdom, and using it make you look dumb?

Maybe, but given that I already raised this criticism in the very first reply-post of the thread, I think I did the calculation just to see what comes up and was obviously giving the numbers in a jovial spirit?

PS: Fixed an error and changed the results.

PPS: See this if you don't know anything about "Wisdom of the Crowds".

At the day when my vacation has ended, so I don't get to play around with it much. So July 30th!

Similar thing happened when HTC released their Android 2.2 Sense-Froyo for the Desire. Last day of my vacation :/

Sorry to disappoint you, but it will be July 10th, my 40th birthday... I should have at least one thing to look forward to! :D

Haha, nope. It's looking like I might've been right...getting released on my 21st birthday..July 25th.

But it's not like I'll be able to get up in the morning and download it anyway...if ya get my drift

The release of Lion 10.7 Gold Master was on 2. Juli 2011

Retail version on 20. Juli 2011

Oh, I don't have problems to get up... if ya get my drift...

It's coming next week. Someone from Applecare told me yesterday on the phone :)

Yea right, if there still was a down vote button you'd be getting one of these "-1".
While I agree it's unlikely that someone at Apple would've quoted a date, I can see next week as a possibility so they can talk about initial Mountain Lion sales on the earnings call the following week.

What happened to the down vote buttons??
It was removed as an experiment. It could still come back or stay missing permanently.
