I think the overall strategy is the new iPad Mini will take over the current regular iPad 9.7’s price point and the updated regular iPad 10 will be bumped up a few hundreds.
You’re probably right. Although i hope it’s the opposite. Keep the regular ipad the low cost one, and give the mini an ipad pro flat edged industrial design. How cool would it be to have an ipad mini with face ID, usb-c, apple pencil 2 support with an 8.5” screen and slimmer bezels in the same size as the previous ipad! That’d be sooo sweet.
