Exactly what I wrote to you, the GPU needs external audio source.

I've never had or tested the Quadro 2000, but I have a Quadro K2000, one generation later, and works fine with HDMI audio and Windows, where I personally tested it, but never tested the audio with macOS.

K2000 have an internal audio controller and does not even have the SPDIF/HAD connector.

on windows the Quadro 2000 works well with the audio... I had tested on the Mac 3.1 but I think I have to install the dmg on the first page for work (I suppose). otherwise the file is not more aviable
