Just wanting to make sure, as I am about to order, will Guitar Hero III run on my iMac?
Specs are as follows:

2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB of RAM
ATI Radeon X1600
 
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
* Operating System: 10.4.10 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard)
* CPU Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
* CPU Speed: 2 GHz
* Memory: 1 GB RAM
* Hard Disk Space: 5.1 GB + 1 GB Swap File
* Video Card (ATI): Radeon X1600
* Video Card (NVidia): Geforce 7300
* Video Memory (VRam): 128 MB

The only thing I am wondering about is the CPU speed of 2.33 GHz.
How is that going to work?

You're over the minimum of 2.0. And I doubt there's much noticeable difference between 2.0 and 2.33, so it's probably nothing to worry about.

Those steep requirements are really funny, considering a (less graphics-intensive) version of GH3 runs on the Wii just fine... Thank you Ass-pur.

Mac version comes out tomorrow. My copy shipped today. I'm selling my PC version to a friend and going to use the Mac version so I can get rid of Windows.

The Mac version is actually a hybrid PC/Mac version (like Blizzard games), though the shipments until now were just the PC version only since the Mac version wasn't quite ready in time. But only in the U.S...no hybrids outside U.S. it seems.

Just wanted to let you know mine came from Apple last night. The box they shipped it in looks like they could fit about 5 copies of the GH package in it, lol. Anyway, yes, it is the PC/Mac hybrid of the game. Install on a 2.4gzh, 4gb RAM, 17" MBP took about 10 minutes or so. I played it on the default settings and with the keyboard and it ran perfect. It was after 10:00pm when I got home so I couldn't rock out with it, the wife was already sleeping. So I'll try it with full graphics and the guitar today. So just letting you know the Apple Store is shipping them and they're arriving fast. I ordered on Sunday and it said 3-5 day shipping, it shipped on Monday and arrived on Wednesday. Not the 1-2 months that Amazon claims. I haven't checked my local stores to see if anyone sells it in-store.
 
I almost got GH3 today. Fry's had bunch of them in stock. So to the people who have it, how well does it play? Any lags?

I don't see why this game needs such a fast system... But then again it is GH3 which is much moregraphically intensive than the others. I may get this for my Mac, but I'll probably end up getting it for PS3.
 
I just got guitar hero 3 for mac and it wont work

I have a mac book 10.4.8 and just got guitar hero for mac/pc and it will not work anyone know why it might not work it does say it recomends 10.4.10.

Uh.
Its been said by myself and many others that it will not run on any MacBook

GHIII doesnt support integrated graphic chipsets, which is what is inside your MacBook.

Im sorry, but unless you have an iMac, MacBook Pro, or Mac Pro, you wasted your money on GHIII.

They said at the apple store when we pointed at the laptop we had there that it would work on the mac book could be the mac book pro though its one of the newer ones its my gfs so idk if it is.Anyway apple said it would work we tried it right away and it said something like cant open file. It wouldnt even start the install.
