I am getting my replacement ipad on Monday as well as a new airport exteme. I have set up several routers in my day but never one of these. Could you tell me the settings you guys are using that is working best for your ipad?.

I use an airport extreme but with very customized settings.
If you are inexperienced in setting up a router - especially the security bits - than, trust me here, you will not get great help from trying to post on forum. You need to hire a local consultant to get your settings tweaked correctly. The charge should run you between 50 and 80 dollars depending on where you live in the country.

Or you could just accept the default settings and hope for the best. The default settings almost always have no security

Like I said before, the security issue does not bother me. I live in the county and the next closest house is 5 miles or so and my drive way is a quarter mile long so I probably won't even password protect mine, i never have before and never had any issues. If it works correctly out of the box, i will be more than happy, if I have to start changing things to make it work with the ipad, i will be very pissed.

As someone with an Airport, I would like to inform you that the iPad does still have WiFi issues. Such as disconnecting, etc.

God, don't tell me that. I thought the Airport was the fix all for this issue.

So its really that easy huh? Under radio channel selection, you leave that manual or change it to something else?

It's really that simple! The Radio Mode is default to Automatic. Just select 802.11a/n - 802.11b/g from the drop down.

Well I hope both the new Ipad and the extreme are both good this time. I have had enough of having to replace my apple products. First it was my ipods, then my apple tv, then my imac twice and now i am on my second ipad.
It is possible, since there are some reporting no problems.

I just use the default settings. The Airport Extreme is the only router I've never had issues with.

This is a good suggestion. That's what I did with mine originally and it has not failed me since. Plus, Apple support is wonderful. If anything comes up, they can help you troubleshoot it.

I would not anticipate that you are going to have problems. The Apple devices all play nice together!

I find it hard to accept the info put forth by "techn0lady" in regards to you having someone come to help you or the fact that you will not get help here. Everything posted has been right out of a user manual or from Apple directly. Do not pay someone to fix your setup. If all else fails, simply send me a PM and I will PM you back my MSN, Skype, Yahoo, etc... username and we can chat and go step by step.

Hmmmmm.... When I turned my Time Capsule on it asked for security, so I think you are wrong here and you appear to be passing out false info.

Well thank you very much. I will take you up on that offer if I run into any trouble.
