If there was only something out there already that you could hold in your hand, had a screen and you could talk and interact with it... oh wait.
Same comment could be said about iPads and MacBooks but Tim wants us to buy both, even though iPads have powerful CPUs. They don't have to pay licensing fees to use mac OS on iPads.

a good solution to this "all day looking at your smartphone" problem is to divide again the things you do in your smartphone, so get a dumbphone+a tablet for internte webbrowsing+ a contact agenda + plus a paper calendar, +a calculator + a wraist watch + buy newspaper at shops + use social networks/porn just in your computer + youtube in your TV ETCC...

smartphone screen addition over
That is the mistake that Humane AI made, assuming that the meme that looking at your smart phone is a bad thing was really true and something that people really wanted to get away from.

Literally why does this exist? Why would you need a hardware device to do what an app should do. The AI Pin at least attempts to tackle what phones don't do well—this seems to basically just be an inferior phone.

How do you make it an app and not pay the apple tax? To the makers of this device, the apple features (app distribution, payment collection, iOS APIs, push notifications) bring zero value. Apple should pay them to make it an app, or you can wait till Siri gets these features.

Interesting. I am very open for new AI gadgets and 200 bucks is much cheaper than a new iphone.

Cause for AI you will always need the newest iphone which is much more expensive.

This made a much bigger splash than it would've if they just released an app. If you want to rapidly build up a user base, a strong marketing push and attractive price are both good ways to do that.

I picked one up and i guess there was a big update a week or so ago that improved a lot of things. I think the biggest positive of it is there’s no monthly subscriptions. I’ve found it to be pretty cool in the teach mode. Can teach tasks to do in your behalf and a bunch of other stuff. One thing I’ve found cool is it can be like a companion to someone and an educational tool to teach them about the world (you can teach it to talk to someone as a younger child and explain it to them that way). It has no such so media connections, etc and is strictly an assistant. It’s sad to see the device get so much disdain and trash talk about it. Someone is trying something new outside of the box and doesn’t even charge you a subscription fee. You’d think the tech crowd would be cheering forwards thinking on.
