Hi everyone,

I am awaiting my shipment (i7 iMac) and the tension is building especially with a lot of the negativity surrounding the new iMac.
These forums seem to revolve around negativity... flickering screen, cracked screen, yellowish tinge, loud harddrive.....I'm sure there are others.

What I want to hear about, is all the people who absolutely love their new iMac and have "NOT" experienced any of these faults.

Lets get some positive karma out there about these beautifully designed machines!

Thanks for reading.

I like the idea of your thread, but can you add your thoughts to the other threads that already exist on the same subject?

Thanks,
Bryan

love it

Got the i5 for my wife at my Apple store on Black Friday. Back home, it booted up, we messed around for the afternoon getting it in the home wireless network, getting iTunes moved over. oh yea i5 saw her old G4 on the network so dragging files was a snap, then to our delight her old version of Quickbooks needed Rosetta(downloaded it on its own) and ran. Next to pump it up, I plan to fill the empty memory slots. But for now, waa hoo, the second fastest stock model in North Georgia. :)

whoops - just read about the yellow tint and we got it. The color is not enough to bother with yet.

All golden here. Although I could really use 16gb RAM instead of 8gb, and 8gb in my MacBook Pro, but it's still ridiculously expensive.

Got the c2d and an i7 and love them

Best computers I've ever bought, waited 6 years to get a new iMac, loved it so much got two of them. Screens are perfect nonyellow or flickering, no harddrive noise, slowdown, or high temperatres.

Love my mac experience and working in slowly converting my wife and brother in law to the apple side.

My office finally got the i7 for me and so far so good. Feels so much faster then my white 2.16 iMac that I have been using for almost 3 years already. Great upgrade and the screen is fantastic and the unit is nice a quiet. Very satisfied with what I have. I will be ordering the same computer for my personal use at home. :)

Thanks for all positive/constructive replies everyone.
It's nice to know that there are a lot of people out there with no faulty iMacs and who are completely loving their new computer experience.

well 5 is not alot :p , I think you will find that more a complaining about the yellow tinge, flickering and noisy HD.

Well my 27" i5 is working like a charm & is really quiet. I be realy happy, and this iMac was definatly worth the 4.5 week wait for me.

I had a slight niggle with my screen flickering, but so far (nearly two weeks on) and no issues in sight.

:)

Heheheh.

I was ready to buy a new I7, but...I'm waiting for Apple to resolve the reported issues, and announce they are resolved.

I really don't have the time to wait for a computer, open the box, fire up the computer, find out it has serious defects, send it back, wait for another computer, open the box, fire up the computer, and find out it has the same serious defects, ad infinitum. Not for $2000+.

When do you suppose the next rev will be released?

Folks, this thread is for happy campers and not for complaining and fretting over iMacs that have not even been ordered. P-L-E-A-S-E, there are enough threads with all of the complaints and frets.

That aside, I'm now in day 10 with my new i7, 8GB iMac. All is well, not one hicup. I could not be happier.:):):)

Transferring files from my MBP over my wireless network was a breeze. This is definitly an amazing machine.

Had any LED light bleed on yours?

VEEERY slight bit of bleed on the bottom right on a black screen but really barely even detectable. My 24" has horrible bleed on all 4 corners.

I am too. Planning on getting one next year sometime. Can't wait!

The "reported issues" are being resolved on a per machine basis since the fact that many of us have problem-free i7s proves they are not universal.

Enjoy your wait. In the meantime I'm enjoying my i7. When they release updated machines in the next bump some of those will have problems too.

I'm on day 5 with my i5 and I'm a happy owner!

None of the issues although I notice a very slight yellow tinge at the bottom if I'm viewing it at more than a 20 degree angle. The solution was to adjust the screen angle and now all is well.

I worked with it all day yesterday and will work with it all day again today. It has been taking all of the tasks I've thrown at it with no hiccup.:)

Raised my hands earlier, now just attaching pics of setup.

With and without flash on my digital Camera
