I thought I was crazy for supporting iOS 6.1 ...

Just wondering, why can't you get up to at least 6.1?

I'm stuck because my test devices are old. I really want to get to 7 for the WiFi stuff, but it'll have to wait.

I still have an iPad first version and an iPad 2 running iOS 6. I have apps on the B2B store and for enterprises, and a customer still have an iPad 1...
My plan is to move to iOS 7 (to support iPhone 4) by the end of the year when iOS 10 is out.

I didn't realize that Apple had a B2B store. That's the market that I'm learning app dev for.

Where do you find the B2B store?

Does Apple still charge 30% for downloads like the regular App Store? I saw where they had a volume purchase thing.

On having old devices, IMO it's a dam shame to waste such usable devices. It wasn't that long ago when those devices were the big thing, now they are nearly land fill.

I have a hard time just finding things for iOS6. Seems like there would be a market for good apps for the older devices as they can be had cheap and still have great usability.

You can access to the B2B store only with a VPP account.
Your customer needs to have the VPP account, then you can publish an app to the B2B store and he can buy redeem codes to download the app.
You cannot browse the B2B store, you just get the app you registered for.
My apps are free since I get paid a fixed price to develop the app, but in theory I could charge my customers for every download and Apple would still get 30%

Wow, that's basically what I'm working towards. I used to do that back in the old days and now looking to bring my industry specific knowledge to the mobile market.

That's kinda funny, Apple want's to charge 30% for B2B, yet you already know the customers and they pay you direct. The B2B store ends up being nothing but a distribution system. That's awesome.

So if you can't browse, how do the B2B customers know what's in the store? What if they sign up with you and want to look around for other things they can purchase?

Is there some site that has B2B apps or services offered where you can get in touch with developers? How do you go about getting your customers, sounds like you'd have to go out and get each customer yourself.

I think we are quite OT with B2B on this thread
