Yup, it was either the Max or no upgrade.
Gotcha, from what i remember last year you were waiting for the larger size as well. Since it's here you might as well get it lol. All i know is i'm definitely not upgrading for 2 years (Sept 2020) no matter what.

It’s a pretty minimal cost to upgrade so I’m good with going for it, but I am kind of underwhelmed this year. Probably a smart idea to wait, you’re not missing a ton.

Can I ask why the XS over the XR for you? My choices were XR or Max, XS was not considered for me.

I like the OLED screen better and want the XS camera. Plus I have some gift cards that will cover the extra cost. If I didn't have those gift cards, I'd probably just be hanging on to my 7.

My SE has been all types of messed up. I usually keep my phones in mint condition, but after my ex dropped it a couple times, I caved in. The condition isn't great, some calls don't even ring, I have a yellow tint that came just after a year, will completely drop service at random times - I'm done.

But no iPhone's released hit my budget. $700 was my hard top dollar. Now I'll be buying a mint iPhone X. As a college student, it's a more fiscally responsible decision. I'll lose less money over the 2-3 years I'll own it. I hope it can make 3.

So we've seen the keynote and I will go ahead with the Xs Max but for the first time ever I'm not getting the maximum storage so will get 256gb.

I'm not happy with the prices, because Apple's cost of production has reduced significantly yet the Xs remains the same price - which it shouldn't have.

My friends and colleagues are shaking their heads and saying how stupid it is at the prices. It's amazing how things have changed, back in the iPhone 4 days, we were getting state of the art mobile technology for a very fair price - but hardware costs have significantly declined and iphone costs have even with inflation increased in a greedy manner.

I could get the Xr but I am fortunate enough to be able to buy Xs Max so I will get it. This might sound cynical but I hope in the future people find a way to run iOS reliably on Android like hackintosh on PC. Then I can buy a phone like a Galaxy S9 Plus which has far better screen and specs and still use iOS.

I am seeing a number of people turn around and saying they are not buying the new phones, anyone else decided against it as well and why?

Were you going to get the Xs/Xs Max and buying the Xr? Are you not buying any X models at all?

My friends and colleagues are nodding their head up and down and saying how nice they are and price is not a problem. I definitely said i was getting one after the keynote. Galaxy has much better specs yet gets beat by iPhone when the benchmark comes in. And even from last years iPhone X. I’m seeing a number of people not turn around and upgrading or switching from android to iOS.

Take this with a grain of salt since it's DigiTimes, but citing supply chain sources, they believe that the Xr will represent over 50% of unit sales in December, whereas the Xs Max will be about 20%. That leaves the remaining 30% to be split between the Xs, 8+, 8, 7+, and 7.

I had a launch day pickup on an XS Max but I canceled it yesterday after seeing reviews. I have an X that I'll be keeping instead. This is the first year I've decided not to upgrade since the iPhone 6 came out.

I did buy a Series 4 watch to upgrade from my Series 2 though.

Most people who have publicly posted about not buying it secretly want to buy it. People actually not interested in something don't care enough to go online to an Apple forum and let everyone know how not interested they are.

Owners of the X are particularly guilty of this, because they want to still feel like they're top of the line even though that is now no longer true. Happens every generation.

I would like one but this is just too much to spend on my phone. My 7+ is finally paid off I planned on upgrading but unless I do the xr, I don't see spending the money.

I don't know. I'm still quite happy with my 8plus and to be honest, the design of the iPhone X series are just not working for me... I like the old iPhone design. Might be a year or two before I upgrade again...
