11” LTE - bent; returned
11” WiFi - perfect

My 11” LTE is perfectly straight. I always get LTE on my iPads. To me and my very mobile lifestyle, they’d be less useful without it. Love being able to surf the web and upload editied video while on the road.

Me too, going back to the iPad 2. But my LTE was bent and I don’t have confidence in the design. The 11” is so amazing that I’ll do without, or at least try for 13 days...

Bummer. But my 11” is straight, and all my artist friends who also have the new LTE pros don’t have bending. Why deny yourself what you normally get? I would return the WiFi model, and get the LTE you really want. Open it up in the Apple Store if you must...but it’s a good bet you will get a straight one. I dunno. That’s my advice. Don’t deny yourself LTE if that’s what you always get.

If your fear of the new LTE iPad Pros is too great, then just get an LTE 10.5” Or even the 2018 iPad with LTE. Keep it and then buy the next update to the iPad Pro in 2020 or 2021.

Again, my 11” iPad Pro is straight and I am enjoying it immensely. I say go for it. Return the WiFi model within 13 days and get another LTE version. But that’s me.

Good for you. My 11” LTE was bent, but I decided to go with 12.9” anyway. Which is also bent. Went to get a new one - bent. Leaning towards just keeping mine, but if my local Apple Store has any LTE ones in stock tomorrow, I may go and try to get a new one again.

In 13 years using different Apple products, this is the first time I had to return one. Which would be fine if the replacement was not defective too.

I’ve been using Apple products for over 20 yrs. Had to return a few products here and there for dead pixel or defective graphics card. Things like that. Never had to return an iPad. And the 11” iPad Pro continues that streak for me. I have however cracked several iPad screens in the past. But that’s on me. Some were covered under warranty. Some weren’t. I have learned to be extra careful with them since. Always put them in a case now. This new one included. I am much more worried about cracking my screen than bending it.

This seems like such a polarizing issue. I have seen no personal bending or with any of my many artist friends here in NYC. But Apple has also said they’d replace bent iPads within 14 days and that they’d be covered under warranty. I still say go for it and try again to get an iPad that you feel isn’t bent.

Im curious if anyone’s Cellular 11inch came in without a bend? I’m getting my replacement from amazon tomorrow... and I don’t know how many times to give it a try (replacing that is), until I give up and go to 10.5?

Is this thread a joke? A minuscule percentage of Ipads are bent and people are losing their minds.

I did buy/do have for now the Gen6 with Gen 1 pencil, but it's just not the same. Crappy non-laminated, non-coated display...visible latency...display feels cramped vs. the 11". It just not the same. 10.5" Pro is ok, but that Gen 1 pencil is just not as nice to use as the Gen 2. I've got two weeks to think about it...

As always, we really don't know how prevalent this is. We do know that it's significant enough for Apple to issue a support document last week. Apple's recognition takes it safely out of the realm of "joke."

Apple's recognition only shows that the reaction and media coverage is significant enough to issue a support document, its not really any indication or admission of how prevalent the problem is.

I decided not to waste any more time on this and keep my current iPad. It works perfectly fine and the bend is barely noticeable in everyday use. If it gets worse I have warranty/AppleCare+ - hopefully Apple tweaks their manufacturing process and tighten QC by then.

Funny thing...My 11 is perfectly straight. Before deciding to upgrade from my 10.5 to 11, I checked my 10.5 out of curiousity. It was bent (slightly, along the long side). Had I never seen the post about the 11 bending, I never would have checked my 10.5. Basically, it was bent, but I had no clue and it never affected my work. I subsequently upgraded.

Now, 11 still perfectly straight, I understand that many months in my backpack to and fro may induce a bend. Who gives a FRA. You OCD folk should focus on what you use/want the iPad for and just figure it out. Guess what? Several months down the road you might get a scratch on the housing. You going to bitch about that, but realize you can still check your email, go on websites, watch porn...whatever you do.

I had a launch iPad 11 with Cellular that wasn't bent. On a trip I accidentally left it on the plane. Last week I picked up a replacement from AT&T and no perceivable bend there either.

I beg to differ with your statement about your first iPad. I heard it's pretty bent that you forgot it on the plane.

Slightly ahaead of my time...https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ipad-pro-2018-scratched-already.2164250/
[doublepost=1547008632][/doublepost]And now...after my trip to the grocery store, I just noticed my LEXUS has a dent and scratches. Where is Lexus” quality assurance!? They should design a product that can be subjected to daily usage, yet still be perfect!

Companies just don’t understand our unreasonable expectations. I’m taking my business elsewhere....Then I’ll find fault with them too.

Bought my 11 LTE yesterday to replace my 10.5 LTE ... Luckily not bent at all...
