True, however the iPad Pro has been very reasonably and competitively priced. As other posters have said, the iPad Pro was never intended to be an “affordable” iPad. It was built as a more capable iPad for those who want what it offers. I love my 12.9, but it’s not a device for everyone.
That is just as subjective as saying the latest generation iPad Pros are too expensive.True, however the iPad Pro has been very reasonably and competitively priced.
It’s at the top end of what I was willing to pay (opting for the 256 with WiFi only), but it has no true ‘competition’ to me, as I want a 12.9 iOS device...True, however the iPad Pro has been very reasonably and competitively priced.
I have a bigger issue.
They offer a premium Pro model, which is fine.
But they do very little to differentiate between the normal model.
There aren't any real "Pro" apps. It uses the same exact ios.
What good is "the power of an Xbox One S" when you don't have any apps that take advantage of it?
Not quite. That statement is relative to other, similar, devices. That is just as subjective as saying the latest generation iPad Pros are too expensive.
Are the new iPad Pros too pricey? I guess it depends on how you look at it. Me? I ditched my laptop pretty soon after I got my first iPad. I had my iMac at home for serious content creation, and just found I was bringing my laptop with me less and less and taking my iPad with me instead when traveling. I always thought the iPad would be a consumption only device, but more and more I found myself creating on it too. There were adjustments, compromises, and a slight learning curve in the beginning to be sure, but the iPad felt so good, I was willing to put up with them.
As the hardware improved, and the apps got better, I realized I was beginning to do more heavy lifting on my iPad even while at home, and my iMac began to collect dust. This really surprised me.
I was ready to take the next step and finally get my first iPad Pro.
So when the new iPad Pros came out with the new heftier price tags, I was willing to pay up, because I knew it would be my main content creating & computing device going forward. To me, it was worth it. I would be doing literally everything on my iPad. Using it at home and while traveling. For consumption as well as creating.
For others who use laptops & desktops, it may be overpriced & overkill, but not for me. It’s all subjective.
The 2018 32GB iPad is now $229 on Amazon. I initially purchased the iPad for $249 and once I saw it dropped to $229 I got customer service to give me a $20 refund. I can currently buy three or four 2018 iPad's for the price of the entry level iPP.Apple didn’t design the pro to be an affordable tablet, they designed the 6th gen to be that and it fits that bill very well. They have two levels of iPads to fit a wide margin of consumers. I still think the pro is overpriced considering it doesn’t have the software to back up that hardware. But it’s still a beautiful machine
But I’m in the same boat as many, as much as I love the pro, my 2018 does everything I need it to and does it perfectly.
Yup I got the 128gb LTE model for $469 Canadian. That’s cheaper than it sells for in the u.s on sale right now! Was too hard to pass upThe 2018 32GB iPad is now $229 on Amazon. I think current pro is now "premium" priced. 2017 pricing was-imo--very reasonable. Its hard to guageTrue, however the iPad Pro has been very reasonably and competitively priced.
Yes, they've added a premium to the price without offering more premium features. The new iPad Pro is just like last years model, with some bumped specs and a new design. I don't think that warrants a 20% increase to the price.I think current pro is now "premium" priced. 2017 pricing was-imo--very reasonable. Its hard to guage
as there is really no market comp. Basic ipad 2018 is a great bargain.
They should stop making the iPad Pro, because you don't need it?For 229 the current normal iPad is a great buy and what the price should stay at. It does everything the pro can do and in real world use you won't notice a speed difference. Apple should stop making the pros and just have the 9.7 and mini. You still need a laptop to do real work efficiently.
ipad crushes Wacom MobileStudio for art: the aspect ratio makes the ipp the best mid size art tablet. You could compare it to the Surface Pro or Wacom MobileStudio Pro, with the Wacom having a price even Tim Cook would be ashamed of.
Niche market but I would buy it. Needs mouse integration and better apple cloud integration. Basically, ipad will never be a laptop, but if you are doing design work its worth the compromises.I prefer the larger screen and would not mind a 16" iPad Pro. The performance is pretty nice to have as well, and it could allow for more advanced apps in the future.
