Hello,

Would you mind sharing your conf if you're using autofs ? I have weird issues with mounts not reconnecting after sleep

Regards,

NFS over wifi works very well here, even after sleep and hibernate.

My configs (WD mycloud NAS):

/etc> cat auto_master
......
/- auto_nfs -nosuid

/etc> cat auto_nfs
/mnt/mycloud -fstype=nfs,vers=3,rw,soft,intr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,noatime,timeo=1200,retrans=10,proto=tcp,resvport,locallocks,noacl nfs://mycloud.local:/shares/Volume_1

After that you must run automount -vc to make your changes permanent. More here:

I thought I was cracking up after rebooting after installing Sierra and I had to click connect. I'd thought it was maybe just a first run thing. It appears not. What a stupid change to a service that worked perfectly well by Apple.

AutoMounter 1.2 being reviewed now, should be in your hands within next two days. Includes the ability to match a server with a WiFi access point name (SSID), send WOL packet to a server when the network changes, UI enhancements, Enhanced device discovery, and bug fixes.

Just updated. Thanks. Didn't realize you're in New Zealand. It's feels like the end of the world when you get there, but great country.

New Zealand is a really nice place to live. I've yet to travel to your side of the world, it'll happen :)

I hope AutoMounter is of some assistance to you all. Cheers!

Hi there - you can find the mounted path by hovering over the 'share type' indicator in the GUI.

Drag it from Finder into your login items.

Basically, if you can double click it and it mounts, you can add it to login items. Then it will mount at login within a short delay.

Its a clever and simple solution, try it out!

Clicking and dragging didn't work for me. I drug the folder into the login items panel and nothing happened. What did work was clicking the "+" button, navigating to the folder , selecting it, and then clicking on open. Afterwards the folder appeared in login items.

I was using a script for many years by a developer I found on some UNRAId forums that have since broken with Sierra, so I reached out to him on Twitter and to fix his own issue and to make it simple for others he has made a simple app called Automounter.

It has saved me having to constantly mess about with each OSX update.

Thank you for this! I've been trying to find what's happening with my Automator scripts since I've upgraded to macOS Sierra. I found your post today, purchased AutoMounter and got my problems solved! I have no idea why Apple made life more complicated for us. Is it for security reasons in this case? What security reasons? I can mount all my network drives as before but now I have to press Connect button. What kind of security is that? Come on Apple!
I even modified my Automator scripts so I had one script which mounts my network drives, this script is activated from a different script which waits 10 seconds and... presses the Enter key to accept connection. Crazy. But with this piece of software I don't have to worry about modifying my script to adjust them to multiple Macs on my network.

The author must have found a method to mount network/shared drives differently because they're not showing in the /Volumes folder. But I'm happy it just works.

I want to keep all of my mounted shares in /Volumes so that it doesn't break an number of apps , scripts, and Hazel rules that depend on the share path not changing. Does Automounter do this, or does it mount file shares someplace else?

Hi jagooch. I just bought Automounter yesterday, so I haven’t used it a ton yet, but it says the in-app purchase adds mounting volumes to /Volumes like you’re looking for.

So far I like it a lot better than using Command-K all the time! I have two unRAID servers with lots shares to mount.

Cheers.

The base app doesn't, but the Pro version does (which is an additional purchase made through the app). It loads a helper.
