Has the iPhone made you look at other Apple products?

Just wondering how many out there have used the iPod and now the iPhone are now thinking about making the "switch"? Thinking about an iMac? MacBook? Maybe a MacBook Pro?

Has the consumer products made you think about checking out the computers? :apple:
 
I think it was the exact opposite for me. The quality of iPods and my iBook has made me consider purchasing the iPhone, despite the fact it's on the Cingular network, which is horrible in the Bay Area.

May be a bit late for what you are asking. My iPod Mini made me a convert, and I love my MBP and iPhone now. I was PC for 20 years prior.

Same here. I was tired of fighting with Windows Mobile and couldn't WAIT for the iPhone.

Was asking because I was listening to one of the iPhone podcast and Merlin was talking to a few Windows only people standing in line. Got me thinking.........
 
I have always had a positive opinion of apple products as my Ipod, MBP, and iMac have all been great buys.

iPhone also makes me happy but out of all those products, is probably my least happy (though still very happy) of the three....I know, I know...it's V1 and the others arent.
 
About three years ago when I bought an Ipod Photo, it made me somewhat interested. A few weeks later I had applied for the apple credit card, got approved but then took it to Comp USA and got an XP laptop instead after spending an hour in the store debating on what to get. Back then I wanted that iMac so bad but I didn't get it. Now back in December I got another XP laptop so it will be some time before I need to get another computer. Maybe then it will be a Mac, who knows.

Bootcamp works very well.
 
Not the iPhone but,

iPod Mini -> iTunes -> Infuriating R51/Xpee Pro -> Friend's Mac -> Macbook! -> :apple:
 
My first computer was a Mac classic and then I also had one of those old dual boot windows/mac boxes (years ago, we're talking 1995), but then computer games really came along and I went PC.

In my current job, I need to pretty much be able to install any game from my company and when I puchased my last PC, a Mac just wasn't an option there.

I will be taking a long look at Macs for my next purchase though.
 
yes, absolutely.

a few days after buying my iPhone, I decided to take the plunge and bought the inspiron. I've only been using OSX for a couple of days, but I LOVE IT!!! It's so much more functional that XP and it looks fantastic!

Once you go mac, you never go back.

There's probably a higher percentage of Windows users on these forums than on most Mac forums. By nature of the rumor scene, it tends to be a destination for "switcher" types.

I actually had a MBP for a short while, but then got a Dell laptop for my portable system because I just couldn't get into the whole apple thing... but then after using the dell for a little bit I realized how much of a POS it is. So back in Jan. I bought a new Intel 15" MBP and have never looked back. I use the Dell as my computer at work, but that's it. I run parallels only for IE (work related tasks), but now I just don't really like dealing with Windows. I'm not seeing how great Apple products interact with each other. So really it was the rediscovery of my MBP that got me all excited about the iPhone.

Huh?! An Inspiron is a Dell Windows PC, not a Mac.
 
Minutes after I purchased the iPhone I told myself, it's time to make the switch! The iPhone was beautiful and the build quality was amazing. Now about a week after having the phone, I am not so sure. If I experience these kind of problems with the Mac Book Pro or one of their other machines, then I definetly don't need to switch; I can be that dissapointed and frustrated with my $3500 laptop, and $6000 desktop running Vista and XP! In light of the iPhone I have been able to clearly evaluate the pros and cons of going to Apple Inc. At least with Windows I knew what to be dissapointed about and it wasn't such a surprise.
 
I bought an iPod in 2002, and early this year I got a Macbook Pro. The big draw for the Macbook Pro was the switch to Intel processors. Because my iPod still runs to this day and my Macbook Pro is one of the best computers I own (both in quality and user experience), I had full confidence in the iPhone.

So, I guess it was the opposite for me. Previous Apple products made me believe that this phone would rock, and it does. It has its flaws, but the only way I'd even consider changing phones is when Apple releases the next version of the iPhone.
 
I already had a MacBook. I'm just waiting for a cheap desktop to come along (not spending $2500+ on a Mac Pro) that I can throw a graphics card in and hook up to my existing KB/Mouse/Monitor.
 
At 8pm on iday, my wife and I purchased 2 iphones. I also bought an ipod nano for my daughter (didn't want to leave her out of the fun). On our way out, we looked at the macs, but I'll be honest, they're too expensive and software is too sparse. Besides, we just put $1500 on the debit and wanted to get home to activate our phones.

I'm perfectly happy with my Ubuntu Linux boxes. As a linux fanboy, I'm decidedly anti-windows (even though Bill Gates is a huge investor in my company) and mostly neutral on apple. Apple makes nice stuff, I'm just not as gullible as you guys. ;)

Software isn't as sparse as you think it is. I switched in december of 2006, and I've found a lot of 3rd party software that allow me to day what I did on windows. The 3rd party apps on the mac are also a lot better than the ones on windows.
 
I have loads of apple stuff already, but the iphone has added fuel to my passionate love for Apple, and I want to buy everything!
 
I switched to Mac three weeks ago, and after the inevitable period of adjustment I have no regrets whatsoever.

It's like a breath of fresh air!

Next purchase, er, let me think.......

iPhone, when they get to the UK.
