Hi Guys,

Has your iPhone replaced your PC?

Cause mine slowly is, I'm finding that everything I use my PC for I can do on my iPhone, has anyone else found this true for them aswell?
 
My iPhone allows me to do a few things on the road, although not even close to what I do on my computers. Although it is pretty indispensable for email.
 
Speaking as someone who still doesn't own Mac or a PC? It does and doesn't. My 3GS does almost everything in day to day tasks I throw at it. That said? When I need to do heavy lifting, printing or a larger screen? It's off the my local and university library.

Yes, for a big part.

Twitter is now mostly done on my iPhone, so is email, facebook and IM (msn mostly)

I check my RSS feeds on my Mac, surf the web on my Mac.

Surfing the web is actually pretty good when you have a Wifi connection, 3G browsing is stupid slow.

I'm a graphic/ interface designer so all of that stuff (photoshop, indesign, illustrator, coda, Apple's SDK) is done on my Mac, naturally.

I like listening music on my iPhone. Running iTunes takes up to 15% of my CPU power, that sucks…
 
I actually find myself using my MacBook less for surfing, email, and IM; some nights after I get home from work I don't even take my MacBook out of my briefcase! So I guess you could say that it has to some extent. That said, it could never completely replace my computer, especially for work.
 
It hasn't replaced my Mac desktop by a longshot, but I have found that I'm using my macbook pro a lot less. Where I used to lug it around everywhere, I'm now only taking it when I'm traveling somewhere, and then it mostly stays in my hotel room as a desktop replacement.

My iPhone has also prevented me from getting a netbook. I keep thinking that having one would be nice, but when I rationalize it, I just don't need it because the iPhone does 99% of what I'd want to do on a netbook anyway.
 
Replaced my laptops for work, or picture viewing, or email, or even typing responses in forums? No way.

Replaced a laptop in the bathroom or bedroom for casual surfing, and on vacations for looking up local info? You bet.

Replaced a laptop on vacation for video Skyping? Alas, no. But would love to buy a compatible video phone / handheld.
 
Never! I think I'm one of the few that cannot stand all of the pinching, zooming in and out etc that you have to do while using Safari.

The iPhone has however replaced my need to log into actual email accts from a desktop.
 
ya not so much my main desktop computer at home... but yeah it definitely replaces my laptop most of the time
 
Not by any means but it does allow me to leave home and go to school/ out and know that I have the internet and other functions in my pocket should I need them. It's like me with my xanax. I hardly ever take it, but its nice having the security of it in my pocket should I need it!
 
It has replaced my need for my MBP. It sits idle. I still use my iMac when I'm at home but my iPhone is what I take with me on business and holiday trips. I used to take me MBP with me when I stayed over night on business or on vacations but no more.

uhhhh definitely not. clearly you don't use your pc for very much.

how could you not own a mac or pc but have an iphone? how do you sync/put music/etc on it then?
 
to say that the iphone replaces my PC is a pretty bold statement. however, i must admit i use it LIKE a pc when im on the road, soemtimes i even find myself using it at home rather than the PC (when im downstairs or feeling lazy and jsut sitting on the bed cuz i have a desktop, not laptop).

so i think it'd be better to say, it has become my pc...on the road.
 
without flash and with a 3.5" screen? what flava crack ya smokin boss?????
 
Actually it's just the opposite for me. I find myself using iPhone less and less for web browsing, in parts because I am trying to save my vision before going blind.
