I hope you are right. I could not wait until 2014 for the next mini and I am again hoping Apple utilizes the GT3e graphics.

I still have my doubts this will come to the mini. Do you honestly think the mini will have better iGPU than the 13" MBP? I do not.

I am hoping both the higher-end 13" rMBP and at least one mini model offer this as a BTO.

Of course, my plans have changed. I got Gauntlet Dark Legacy working through emulation and it actually is playable on my 2011 base model mini. It was in fact the emulator not the Intel HD 3000 that was causing it to run slow.

Obviously a better system would make it run smoother but it actually runs quite smooth with only occasional spikes in lag when there's a lot of monsters on screen.

So which MacBook does the base mini take after?

We should know after Monday what the base mini will have on the next update right

It takes after the base MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display. SO if one of those or both of them get updated on Monday it should give us a rough idea as to what expect whenever the next mini update comes out.

The good news is, I got Gauntlet Dark Legacy running on a different emulator and my 2011 base mini runs it somewhat well. It is choppy at times but not as bad as one would expect for the Intel HD 3000 which I underestimated.

I still hope one mini utilizes the Iris Pro as a BTO though.
