I'm processing a large number of PDFs by making rules for them in Hazel. I have Hazel on my macbook built-in display, and finder and pdfgear on my external display. This allows me to navigate files, OCR pdfs, and (ideally) view opened PDFs.

However, when I double-click a PDF to open it in preview, Preview opens on the built-in display which covers my maximized Hazel window! Is there a way to configure my Mac so that when an application is launched by double-clicking a file in finder, it opens on the same display as the "parent" Finder window?
