The soggy side of the Pacific NW
For the Lee system:

77mm: $27.95
72mm: $59.95

Seems kind of silly to spend the money for the 72mm adapter if I already have a 72/77mm step-up ring (which I use for my 77mm polarizer).

Is that the entire adapter? With the Cokin adapter, you only buy the full filter holder + adapter ring once. Then you buy any additional adapter rings you need separately ($13 at B&H). So if you buy the 77mm Cokin set, you then buy this 72mm ring, slip the 77mm ring off the filter holder and slide the 72mm ring in there.

According to B&H, the foundation kit (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/87108-REG/LEE_Filters_FK_Foundation_Kit_Standard_4x4_.html) takes an adapter ring depending on the diameter of the lens. I just looked here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Adapter-Rings/ci/3838/N/4289364275 and figured if I bought the 77mm ring, I could use my step-up ring to accommodate my 72mm diameter lens.
