I have to give another vote to the Jaybirds. Ive had the X2's for 2 years and have ran in the rain, and high humidity soaked in sweat. I've never had an issue. It comes with a large assortment of fitting accessories. It took about 30 minutes for me to find the right combination that felt right. After that, they felt great and never moved. They stay put while running and through crossfit workouts. If these ever die on me, I'll be getting whatever version they have out at the time.

I use both the AirPods and the Sennheiser Momentum in ears wireless ( which sound much better) but are a bit less convenient.

I have the Jaybird X3s myself and like them a lot. I find they are a bit of a pain to fit, but the sound is decent enough and the band between the earpieces works well. I have it shortened so it rides along the back of my skull.

Did you look at the BeatsX? I'd think the longer cable may have the chance to flop around too much, but if not it also has the w1 chip.

I have the same x3s and I love them. Love love love them.

I went looking for a definitive statement about AirPods warranty coverage for water damage and found this:

So, pretty risk free to expose them to sweat in the first year.

I have a shaved head, so I don't have any hair to slow the sweat down. :)

I'm an avid runner and gym rat - I run about 6 miles almost every other day. And I sweat profusely. For the past couple of years, these have been my go to running/workout headphones: https://www.target.com/p/philips®-a...reless-earbud-headphones---black/-/A-50594268
They're not the most amazing headphones I've ever come across when it comes to sound quality, but they work and I have yet to have any sweat/moisture issues with the headphones not working. Plus, at this price point, if I lose them or they break, I'm not really going to care all that much.

That said, just this past week in preparation for getting my first AW, I've been thinking about whether to switch to my AirPods since I know they will pair better with the AW and work much more seamlessly. I decided to give a couple of runs and workouts a try with my AirPods. I have run twice in the past week outside in fairly humid weather for about a 6 mile run each time, and I have been somewhat surprised how the AirPods have held up. I do notice that the prong that stick out of your hear onto the back part of your face does get sweaty for me, but the pod itself seems to be staying fairly dry. I made sure to use a paper towel after each use and dry off the prong part of the AirPods. Too early to say whether I'm going to permanently switch to the AirPods for running and working out, but I'm definitely giving it some serious though in conjunction with getting my first AW.

They jaybird X2 and X3 are fantastic headphones. They do stay in your ears fairly well and are sweat proof.

Although recently I switched them out for the Dash Pro customized by Starkey. The Dash Pro are waterproof. And if you get them customized for your ears, they will stay in place perfectly through as many miles as you feel like running. (But they are costly.)

I’ve used many over the years but the plantronics backbeat fit are the best I’ve used for value and performance.

That was my thinking when I first got the AirPods: I had a year to stress test them. They seemed water resistant and survived submersion in a few YouTube videos, but they didn't have an explicit water resistance rating.

Eight months in, I've been pleasantly surprised by their durability. Other than wiping them off after runs, I've cleaned them one time with a cotton swab and alcohol because I had a bit of wax build-up in the right AirPod that was muting the sound a bit. After cleaning, the sound returned to normal.

I used to have a Jaybird X2; it broke down after half a year and I got replaced by Jaybird Freedom and I really liked it. It is much lighter than X2 (but the battery will not last as long as X2 and X3). It is less bulkier than X3 and I think it is perfect for jogging :)

Surprised to see only one mentioning Bose soundsport, I use it for running and it sounds great.

I love my AirPods but when I run (8-10km, 3 or 4 times a week) I sweat like a beast and I’m afraid to destroy them. I’ve been running with the Plantronics Backbeat Fit for a year and recommend them highly. Very comfortable, good sound, solid connection and they really hold up to a soaking.

If you look at the original iFixit tear-down on AirPods, you'll see things like the following:
If jamming complex components into a small form factor and sealing it with a copious amount of glue were a game, Apple would be winning.
Instead, we encounter a waterfall of glue.
Hidden behind and within the torrent of glue, we spy the end of the battery cable.
Ripping out the glue plug reveals…
Digging deeper under more glued-on cables and tape…
Blood, sweat, and lots of glue later…
Apple seems to have made AirPods with water-resistant membranes for the speaker grill and other "openings" and filled every cubic mm inside with glue. AirPods hold up just fine to sweat and other liquids, much better than EarPods, which I would sweat out every few months.

I prefer over the ear headphones when running but the AirPods were great when I had them.

May get version 2 or grab the new Beats Studio 3 as they are getting high praise everywhere. Yes I know blah blah blah Beats but I own other brands as well and like variety. :)
