This sounds like a good challenge for the mythbusters! Of course if they had to use a real power book it might be a depressing episode...

Definitely. Kind of a bittersweet experience...it would be painful to watch that's for certain.

I guess they wouldn't have to use an Apple laptop. :D

A durable computer such as a PowerBook can not be considered drunk at least until the speech recognition feature is used and your words are badly slurred. Then it may warrant a trip to the Betty Ford Center's high-tech division.

LOL, Hilarious.

But really, a Powerbook has a backup battery, even if you unplug the power and remove the battery, there will still be electricity running through.

If you feel comfortable opening it up, do it. Maybe all you have to do is replace the keyboard. Go to PBFixit.com, they have manuals on how to take it apart. It is not that bad. You just have to be really organized with the screws. And they can sell you the keyboard, too.

Good luck hope your PB turns out fine.

For the future, always prop your pb up on something like a book or newspaper in case of spills. as for spilling it directly onto your keyboard???

Send the repair bill to whoever said leave it on.

But, really please, buy an iSkin for the keyboard. yes, nasty liquids can still get inside through the trackpad/palmrest, but you've eliminated most of the problem right off the bat with an iSkin.

Rubbing alchohol and purified water would be my recommendation. I saw a 1ghz ibook logic board once that had sat in water or a mixed driink... yikes, you should have seen the fried and RUSTED connections on the board. Scary. Like someone got drunk and then fell asleep without draining the computer. Now that's a nightmare.
