I'm a few years into an HP 5530. Compact, versatile, Air Print ready, great quality prints and easy to set up without a computer. Having HP InstantInk (three months came free with the printer) has saved me boat loads of time and money on ink refills.

I have the HP Envy 5530 also and I love it. First printer for me that was easy to set up and lasted more than a year. I can print anything without fail from my computer, iPhone or iPad.

Canon ip110 is small, wireless and works really nicely. I have the battery on it, that makes it rather expensive, but it’s really nice for a road warrior :p
Mine is now several years old and has printed rather a lot and made a lot of kilometers.

Recommend Brother DCP-T500W, I have it for 3 years and very reliable. It has ink tank style and the inks are very cheap. The ink never dry to clog the print head. Also has wireless printing via its APP, not very good but do the job.

I don't know what would qualify as inexpensive, but I've had my eye on this printer - HP Tango. It's pretty interesting since this printer has no hardwire connections, completely wireless. Only downside is that it is not a laser.

I currently own the Brother HL-L2340DW. I hate it b/c my iPhone claims it can never find the printer. I have to always turn it off and on again and then my iPhone finds it. I don't know if it has to do with sleep mode or what, but very annoying.
