I have two 2TB external drives formatted in Mac Extended Journaled from a Snow Leopard Core Duo machine (before it died) and am now trying to read them on my iMac Core 2 Duo with Tiger but they won't seem to mount.
Disk Utility can see them okay, and can even verify them, but when I select "Mount", nothing happens and the drives do not appear in Finder.
I don't have a SL disk or I would just install that.
Any ideas?

If it matters, I am using 10.4.11
The drives have their own power supply and do not depend on USB power
