All Apple products are good ones to gift, especially the watch. Cannot go wrong with any of them.
Have you ever thought to give something not from a$$le? For example a cooking class for sushi, a massage in a wellnese center, one parachute jump... experiences that will last forever in their heart...

Received AirPods for Christmas from my wife - I gave her a pair for her birthday last year.

Maybe she wants to tune me out even more!!

I’m iPhone user since 2015, and with every replacement (6, 8, 11 Pro) I have doubled the storage: 128, 256, 512. So this has allowed me to keep all my data since my iPhone 6.

Back on December 2019 I got an iPhone 11 Pro Midnight Green with 512 GB.

Unfortunately after 5 years of rough and loyally use, the battery of my 11 Pro has been degraded to 74% and has been very hard to finish the day without charging at midday. Also the lightning charging port stop working 2 years ago so the only way I’m able to charge it is through a Qi “wireless” charging base…. what drive me nuts when I’m away from home or my office.

So this year I became my own Santa and gifted myself a brand new iPhone 16 Pro White Titanium with 1 TB!

I’m very glad with my purchase although being honest, I haven’t found too much differences between my new 16 Pro and my old 11 Pro. Ok, better camera, larger screen, but nothing very special that had justified the update beyond my issues with the battery and the lightning charging port which by their own were enough reasons to update.

I expect my new iPhone should last me at least 5 years more. The only way I would update before is, if Apple launches a flip or foldable iPhone which I would buy since day 1.

Well the survey was partly correct. I put off getting an AW so long I asked for it as a Hanukkah gift. I have known I wanted one for along time, but for the last two years didn't act on it. Should have picked it up on Black Friday.

I'm not gifting anyone anything. I'm not from the west, christmas means nothing where I live. Happy holidays to all our friends in the west and elsewhere!

I got the APP2. They really do sound significantly better than the originals. I really enjoyed the originals and they served me well but this a solid upgrade.

Gifted myself a 2022 M2 MacBook Air during Black Friday; replaced a 2017 MacBook Air. Woot!

(I had bought a used M1 MacBook Pro last September from a trusted local reseller, but it essentially died a month ago. But, it was a good Apple Silicon learning tool, which means I’m not playing with the M2, just using it.)

Just interested, what happened to the M1 MBP?

2024-10-28 I bought it from a trusted reseller in town who I've known for 12 years. The front corners were a little bent up in front (.3 mm), but it worked well - they wouldn't have sold it if anything was wrong. I have used it happily for most of this year.

Now, randomly it won't left click on dialog buttons. I took to to an authorized Apple repairman, another friend, and he ran his diagnostics on it from Apple. He said the display was replaced at one time, and it hadn't been officially paired with the motherboard. That apparently would have turned off the camera and the adaptive brightness sensor, among other things. I know the camera worked when I bought it; it doesn't now (not that I ever use it).

Which one did you get?
And don’t forget to install the Tesla app ;)

I really wanted to purchase something from Apple this holiday season but nothing would offer any new functionality. For example: I have an Airpods Max pair that's missing adaptive ANC but the new USB-C ones don't have it either. My Pro 2 have that but I prefer big headphones most of the time.

Similarly, the new M4 Macbooks have the same display, same OS, as my older Macbook. The only thing I'd be swapping out would be the chip and that makes no difference to me. It's got better performance than any Intel Mac before.

And it's not like there were any decent deals on the apple store website either. They just offered gift cards in the low double digits. You'd have to first buy something at the full price so you could get a mediocre discount on a later purchase.

The Airpods Pro 2 through various retailers were the only actual holiday deal worth spending money on.

I feel special because I was the 1% who got gifted a Mac 👀
M4 Mac mini.
I think it’s because there other are better upgrades ! Like AirPods 4 compared to AirPods 2 (for example), iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad mini… Some may have bought MacBook Air M3 or MacBook Pro M3 and doesn’t need to upgrade… (even from Mac mini m2), iPhone 15 users doesn’t really need to upgrade to 16 now since AI is not ready and some don’t like it……

I gave my little brother my AWS9 and Sony XM5s and I was able to use that money alongside my Christmas money to buy AirPods Max and a Apple Watch Series 10

Haven't give or receive any gifts in years... xmas is time of being with family for me and not about the gifts.
