The iPhone Xr is an impressive phone.

I would like to see a follow on to the iPhone SE in the next round of phones with:
  • USB-C
  • Overall size smaller than Xr, iPhone SE size but no larger than iPhone 6,7,8 (non plus)
  • Price $100 cheaper.
The idea is a capable phone that can fit in smaller places/pockets, and still be used with just one hand.

Are you interested in this kind of thing?

I have an XS Max, I will not be in the market for a phone in 2019. When I am ready to upgrade, I won't be looking at anything much smaller than the Max.

4.7” screen in the same size case as the current SE......shut up and take my money.

I would Purchase that. What I used to do, I always switches my Sim card between my Plus size iPhone and my SE, that way I could use my SE on days where I wanted more ‘Pocket space’ and then back to the Plus size phone where I wanted a larger display. I’m still hopeful Apple will have something in the future for an ‘SE 2’, and being as random and unpredictable as they are, you never know. Look at 2018 with a product releases, MacBooks in July, two separate fall keynotes, and a randomly refreshed watch bands and cases in between.

I wonder what people got with usb c? This is the absolute last reason why people buy a smartphone in 99,9% of all cases. Is there a thief in your neighborhood stealing all lightning and normal usb cables? People got so many old cables, why should they ask for another one?

The size is ok like it is. If they make it larger, there’s no reason for the SE, than a 7 or 8 is the better choice.

100 dollar cheaper than what? The old SE? Or the 8? If 8, then nobody would buy it. The SE was a budget phone, most people bought it because it was cheap, small and on the same level like the 6s technically.

And as a SE User, i really see nothing I’m missing in my almost three year old phone. I replaced the battery myself and it runs like on it’s first day.

The only reason for an upgrade would be a replaceable battery. The phones are still fast after years, the only downside is the battery which decreases.

I think there's extremely little chance an SE2 would have USB-C. It would have the same Lightning adapter the other phones do.

I would like a smaller form factor, but with the googies offered by at least the Xr

I don't think they'd be able to accommodate a notched screen at that size - the ears would be too small to be useful, so it would likely be a design with a full forehead instead?

SE is the most stupid name for a phone i doubt it would be called SE again. If they do release a smaller phone it will be bigger than 4 inch, 4 inch in 2019 would be useless.

It means 'Special Edition'. Why is that stupid?

No it does not. Apple has never said what it stood for, which is the same as with S in the regular iPhones, starting with the iPhone 5s.

Wrong. An extremely brief google search would have confirmed this for you.

I couldn't go back tot eh iPhone smaller size such as the sE, one it would be just too small for me, because I am used to the big 6.5 inch XS Max, it wouldn't feel right to downgrade. Although I am sure the SE originally people love (or loved).

The headphone jack is easily fixed with a blue tooth headphone. :)

I have as many USB-C cables, as
Thanks for correcting me!

no headphone jack, no sale.

LMAO.What is the point of this comment seeing as the words ‘headphone jack’ haven’t even been mentioned? Grow up; you sound childish—-even more so since this is an imaginary phone.

Yes, especially given that me beloved SE is failing now...in the past two days, unable to connect to any WiFi :(. Apple Support is calling me today with an engineer to try to figure it out. All software/firmware problems investigated with no luck.

Good thing I have Apple care. But, the timing is lousy bc, as you suggest, there might be a small replacement in the pipeline. I would expect, perhaps, an iPhone 7 update maybe this Spring? If I have to buy an older iPhone 7...for the interim, that would be expensive. Hopefully, the Apple Care will cover costs.

iPhone 8 internals in a 5S body, I’ll buy it immediately as a backup phone.

Be right behind you in line. Will buy two, one for me, one for wife.

BTW, while investigating my SE WiFi failure with Apple, I mentioned to the representative that I would really like to see Apple bring out an SE replacement, and she said she had heard that “from a lot of people.”

Don’t get me wrong, I love my new XR, but I traded in the 7+ to get it so I have no backup. Obviously I like bigger phones but I’ve always liked the classic look of the 5S. I always like keeping an older iPhone around as a backup and the only way to get a new SE now is a prepaid locked 32GB which I don’t want, so I would love to see a new SE for this alone. Give it wireless charging and True Tone too since those are two features now I can’t live without.
