Still a stupid name who in the general public would know that?

Whats so special about it ? Its a iphone 5 with some updated internals
I’m the general public and have known this for two years and never even owned an Apple product until 9 months ago. It brought back a beloved design with great specs which is why it was called that I assume. Many products have received “special editions” in my lifetime. Just because you’ve never heard of it doesn’t make it stupid.

I believe the biggest problem with the mythical iPhone SE 2 is that the notch that Apple has compromised itself into is so wide, that it would just take over the whole top of the phone. they probably don't want to make one until they get rid of the notch, by which time most of us hold-outs will give up and get a big phone.

I'd be happy even if they just renewed the original SE because I can't find a new, SIM-free one anywhere

Me too - I'd take some type of bare minimum upgrade to the guts, camera and screen (all within reason - just newer/better than 6s caliber) in the same chassis..

I really love the SE case design and feel (5s too with those edges) - I think it's very premium feeling and now it oddly is the most like the brand new iPad Pro's! lol

I can’t speak for the U.K., but they are available here in the States through various retailers, and significantly marked down. Perhaps try searching online, you might find a larger market.

Don’t really want usb-c right now on my iPhone to be honest

I have tons of lightning cables My se , Xr ; and 2017 12.9” all have em.

I would be happy with a size between SE and 6 body wise but closer to SE. A lower 5” screen , no notch, a small top bezel chin to accommodate Somehow shorter in height Face ID , wireless charging, and updated optics to match xs/Xr

I really hope regardless there is an se2 In any capacity.

Se1 is such a brilliant device. Still.

I stopped dreaming in this long time ago. People who wants smaller phones (like me) are still a very small minority, so don´t expect a premium device with less than 5inch neither from Apple nor any other brand.

I agree with your post. There always is a demographic that likes smaller phones, and I had mentioned in the past, if Apple does revamp the smaller phone in the future, I would say the minimum would be a 5 inch display. I think it’s very possible, but only on Apple’s timeline, Whenever that is.

Perfect SE 2 would be (IMO), taking into account costs:

  • 4.3" edge-to-edge LCD display. Similar size/form factor to current SE but with no bezels.
  • Face ID
  • A11 Bionic
  • 3GB RAM
  • Limited colors (to improve production costs): Space Grey or Silver
  • 64GB or 128GB storage
  • 12MP rear/7MP front camera (same as iPhone X)
So basically the first gen iPhone X, in a smaller form factor similar size to the first gen SE. LCD panel instead of OLED to reduce costs. Would cost around $550-$599 for 64GB.

I would throw my money at Apple if something like that was released.

Good list of specifications. The only thing I would change, is the storage offered, I think 64 GB really shouldn’t be the minimum anymore, because of how much media, software updates and applications require for storage. Now that Apple has graduated to 512 GB of Storage, I think 128 GB and 256 GB should be offered, and 128 GB being the price point of what 64 GB would start at.

I’d like a mini XR the size of an SE, except I’d want
- the SE bottom bezel (not slimmed) so that it’s easy to manipulate the device with one hand, such as when transitioning from portrait to landscape orientation to take a video (same top bezel would be nice too but that’s optional)
- Touch ID (2) because I find it’s still a better biometric security solution in some situations
- flush camera
- headphone jack for when I’m out and about moving around all day listening to music and my BeatsX runs out of juice, or when I want to record/compose layered music in GarageBand and need zero latency
- same screen size as SE which is barely small enough to reach all the corners with my thumb while gripping the device in one hand
- same resolution as SE since I already can’t make out the pixels and don’t want more battery drain
- same awesome design as the SE

So I guess I just want a new SE with better specs.

I like your list, just add in USB-C so that I can use the same charger as the iPad Pro 12.9. I think that all Apple iOS devices will be shifting over to USB-C during 2019.
