Nice. How much shares do you have in Apple? It's going to be great.

I don't have any. I don't have individual stocks. I wish I do.

This is actually good news for competition. But too bad Samsung pays carriers a lot of money to promote their phones so their dominance in the carriers-subsidised system will not go away any time soon.

Samsung is on D-day right now.. they need to do something quick off their sinking ship LULZ.

Some on here act like Samsung killed their dog.

That sucks that they are having a bad quarter, they employ A LOT of people, so a bad quarter could result in layoffs.

There is more to life than my team is better than yours, yet that seems to be the focus of many people. My political party is better than yours, my phone is better than yours, my game console is better than yours, and it goes on and on.

A lot more important things to be worried about.

Now, this is what I call interesting. Always those people who think Apple is doomed. Well, now we can say that about Samsung. That'll teach them. :D

"Can't innovate anymore, my ass" as Phil Schiller once said. :)

exactly... I love how apple gets the target of can't innovate anymore my ass hahahah Phil Schiller gave me goosebumps when he said that.. it was EPIC.

i LOL'd when the bloomberg/yahoo article starting talking about samsung to "recapture innovation"

It will be interesting to see what they do to try and make themselves unique now with Apple offering large screen phones. Apple pretty much snatched away their biggest selling point. Now we'll see if Samsung is truly capable of "innovating" anything, but I doubt they are.

let's be realistic here.. the only thing going on for android users are 1. bigger screen, 2. open OS.

big screen- apple is already released bigger screen phones.. //checkmate
open source- Android users enjoy this on their Samsung devices right now. However, there are rumors that Samsung is trying to separate from android and get their own OS, <cough> Tizen ... this IMO would be the biggest mistake Samsung makes if they do decide to do it. that's their only trump card.

I have apple products, and am a fan of apple products. Samsung has been "innovative" for a long time... NFC, facial recognition, larger screen size, waterproofing, eye reading recognition, and many other things. I love apple products, but I can respect the competition.

I think samsung has been the best thing to happen to apple. Apple copies ideas from them, and improves it before deploying. If it wasn't for samsung we wouldn't have such great technology in the 6 and 6+.

Agreed

I knew this would happen. Once Apple came out with larger phones, it would hurt Samsung the most. The pride themselves on their large screen phones. Now, you have Chinese companies destroying them on the low end, and Apple slowly but surely destroying them on the high end. It's starting to get to the point where Samsung won't have much negative stuff to say about the iPhone. They won't be able to attack the software as much, because we all know next year is a S (major software upgrade) year and we will get even more features that cater the large screen iPhone.

Does Samsung still make some of the Apple screens? If so they should be happy when iphone is selling. Although I'm sure they're separate divisions of the company so it's not so clear cut.

from what I know, sharp is the primary manufacturer of the screens. same thing for the screens, Samsung used to supply the majority of the SoC chips, but now TSMC are producing most of them. LOL. apple is trying to separate from Samsung... bai bai Samsung haha

Could be! They've got some beautiful TV's though.

I want Samsung to continue to be a force, they drive competition which is good for all of us. That does not mean I would buy or use one of their devices, not a fan of the user experience (including the device as well as the Android OS).

you would think "Jungah Lee" the writer of the article would have atleast check the current stock prices before putting foot in mouth. please don't hate the newcomer im just stating the facts
currently apple stock is up only .21% while samsung is up 1.90%:D

Article is good news because it means Samsung will have to innovate. Although I'll probably never buy a Samsung phone, it's good when Apple and everyone else has competition. Consumers win :).

Samsung does way more than make phones, and their collapse isn't even close to happening.
