Many people would actually be incredibly displeased if Samsung stopped offering a removable back. Two reasons: removable battery and removable microSD card. People now really love having the option to throw in a new battery and be at 100% in a matter of seconds and to expand storage size. I don't blame them. The plastic back is worth the price for them.

Sony with their Zperia Z/ZL at least seem to have solved the microSD card very tastefully.

Is for me. Also there is the NFC issue with a metal back. HTC has used metal casing a lot and their phones are still junk. Id rather have he innards working well and built solid with the options you mentioned while i can put a case of my choice on it.

How so? I havent heard about that. Also, it is also another glass back phone which im not a fan of since they break to easily. I would actually rather have a plastic back. No doubt the glass back looks better but if it breaks, not easy to replace nor cheap.

In Canada we are getting the ZL which has a very attractive plastic back and has a Microsd slot. The glass-backed Z also has the slot:

OK, but how has that "solved the microSD card very tastefully"?

How about not having to slide off a cheap feeling back and instead, in the case of the ZL, having a discrete cover at the back. That "solves" the issue of cheapness and also your "how so?" comment where clearly you believed this was a non-existent feature.

That link you posted mentions nothing about how to get to the microSD or where it is. Only says it will have one. I didnt say it didnt exist, i just asked a question and i still dont see what you are talking about and i dont know why your getting bent out of shape.

Its a nice looking phone for sure but i wont buy a phone with a glass back unless it is break proof .

The new screen on the GS4 isnt going to be a Pentile screen. And black is supposed to save battery. You can also disable some Apps like Chat On, and some other built in bloatware and your battery will be a lot better.

Believe me, I've tried disabling everything... to the point at which it becomes a joke...even an un-jailbroken iPhone has more background capability, and still the battery life is suboptimal. But this is nothing new. This is a chronic problem with Android devices (I've had many). We will not solve the issue in this thread.

However, I would be very willing to trade my GS3 for a Maxx HD.

The image posted above, however, is quite sharp though. I'd be ok with that as the GS4.

I apologize for being crabby. I had a lousy workday but that is no excuse.

Read this link but especially look at the photos:

Not everyone loves those black wallpapers (they depress me), and the web is also mostly white background (which is also easier on eyes when viewing text), same goes for book reading.

I say it's time Samsung says goodbye to their amoled experiment and just puts an LCD in it.

Either way doesnt matter to me. Im not real picky when it comes to the blacks myself and i dont use black wallpapers but i do use a black background on my Twitter which i do find easy to read. Brightness makes me squint.

Many people like the AMOLED screens so they have no reason to switch to an LCD but if they are going away from a pentile screen on the GS4, they should use an LCD or IPS. Either one id be fine with.

I bought the new BlackBerry Z10 yesterday and I want Samsung to get away from their current Design & Material.

I don't care if they copy Apple, BlackBerry, hTc and/or Nokia. I want a Super Phone that feels like I paid $600+ for it and not some Cheap Plastic.

Super Phones are getting bigger, stop making them lighter!
