Few to no people are touching mine. I'm pretty protective of my iPod, recently I've been letting people look at them but then a family member took my Nano(with out asking) and scratched it!

I was upset, not sure how she even did it. She has my 1G Nano and had 1G Mini, and they aren't any more "hurt" then the day I gave it to her...but some how she hurt the least scratchable iPod ever!

I have 2 friends who I'll let see it, a little. Also family members, but never out of my view. As for the person who scratched my Nano, she'll be able to see it too...but I'll be really protective when she has it.

ive already thought of this. me personally will not let people use it themselves. i will show them the features but all i need is someone accidently dropping it and breaking it. for 600 dollars only my hands will touch it.

rule: You look at my iPhone, you hand over your driver's license, even if I do recognize you from around the neighborhood.

Rule q) Don't try to bend the iPhone, thats impossible. Only try to realize the truth, there is no iPhone.
Hi-five to /dev/toaster.

Rule Turqoise.) You may use my iPhone when I am this. Answer this riddle and you sure won't miss. It's a 4 letter word after which these stood, END, BOLT, LOCK, and lastly WOOD. Find me thus, and to you I'll grant, my silvery precious that I otherwise can't.

Remember, there is only one iPhone and Steve Jobs gets its profit.

LOL this is a great thread...the only people i plan on letting touch my phone are my close family and a few friends. At school I have already though about ways to avoid people asking to use it, my plan is to sit in the back of the room and use it so it is hard for others to see. Why would I want dirty hands on my phone???

Hehehe, so you want me to kill you and then take your iPhone? Okay, if you insist. :D

3rd Rule: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.
4th Rule: Only two guys to a fight.
5th Rule: One fight at a ti....

Sorry, got caught up in Fight Club.

Although, if one of these people drops/scratches/smudges/etc on my $600+ toy then we might have to start using the FC rules.

Claris is the software company.

Clarus is the dogcow.

Now I'm back in a serious austerity mode, so I don't think I'm getting an iPhone any time soon, despite the fact that my current cell phone is slowly dying after four years of use. I might just swing back towards the Treo 680 and some serious self-loathing for a year or two.

Rule 'whatever' - if you drop it, you've got 2 seconds to pick it up before the bugs get on it. (Crying will be expected, with or without the bugs.)

This is a great thread. I thought about posting this topic, debated it, then thought I'd come off as a jerk!

But I was thinking the same thing. This is a $600 device. And everyone (most) who sees it will want to hold it.

I know I'll come off as an $ss at work for not letting some handle it, but, IF someone drops it are THEY going to pay for it??

I'll have to play it by ear.

Someone should make a "Temporary iPhone usage release" form that includes terms of temporary use and other info. Carry it around with your iPhone and make your friends sign it before they get their grubby paws on it.
