High Sierra & MS Office for MAC Compatiability

Office 2011 installed fine and I had to call the 1-866 number to get the 42 digit activation code.

I had to do the same thing, I wonder how long they will support activation (re-activation) of installations of office 2011.

+1 upgraded El Capitan to Sierra Mac Pro 5,1 my valid MSO Product Key was no longer valid called a 866 number provided a 54 number installation id and received a 48 number confirmation id. It went better than I expected.

I finally upgraded my OS to MacOS High Sierra v 10.13.6. I bought the new stand alone MSO 2019 and everything is working fine so far. My next step is to upgrade to MacOS Mojave which MS says is compatible with MSO 2019.

I'm waiting to see if it is stable to upgrade. Anyone happy with it???? Do you find it stable?

The only way to go to do this for me is to make an appointment at the genius bar an upgrade there. My wifi at home is not stable enough for the upgrade. Actually, I upgraded to Macos High Sierra at the genius bar instead of at home. It's a good thing I did because nothing is easy. I had issues and actually ended up in Apple repair. Luckily I had purchased their support package and wasn't charged anything. I saved a lot of time (and $$$) doing it this way and it's always better to have tech right there.

Mojave is now at 10.14.3 and is rock stable for me. Probably a good idea to do the upgrade at the genius bar if your WiFi at home is slow or spotty. Just make sure you have a verifiable backup on hand in case Murphy's Law shows up. I personally recommend using Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your current system to an external drive before upgrading.

Just to add another data point -- I have a mid-2010 Mac Pro (5,1) running HS 10.13.6, and I am using MS Office 2011 (version 14.7.2). I don't use Outlook much, but Word, Excel and PowerPoint seem to work fine. I am not seeing any problematic issues with any of the applications. Thanks to this thread, I am now planning to upgrade to MSO 14.7.7. Hopefully, that will proceed without issues. Thanks to everyone for all the info (and for the direct link to the download page for 14.7.7).

Just an update to add to the above post

Office 2011 still running fine on Mojave 10.14.3 (18D109) running outlook 14.7.7 (for email) and using excel daily and word frequently - no issues.

As mentioned above - I purchased office 2016 2 years ago but prefer Office 2011 for excel and outlook over the new version of office, so I am hanging on as long as it works

I am now planning to upgrade to MSO 14.7.7. Hopefully, that will proceed without issues.

I had no issues upgrading to 14.7.7 and in fact it seemed to fix issues with with Mojave (in my case)
